Inter Steer Restaurant — Restaurant in Toronto

Was once very sick after working 9 hours in Parkdale and walked home to Roncesvalles. Was very late and scared so I went into this restaurant to use the restroom. I felt delirious and thought if I splashed some water on my face and maybe purchased a juice or something I would feel better. I was sitting in the restroom and told to get out. 5 minutes later I was still feeling horrible and the manager said its been 30 minutes get out. 5 minutes is not 30! I understand someone wandering into your restroom before ordering something may seem a bit off putting, but in this situation I felt I couldn't keep walking due to illness and I feel a nice person would have asked if I was ok. Instead, I was treated like trash. I heard great things about the food here but because of how I was treated, I would never step foot...

Whoa, recieved JARRINGLY hostile service here. Came in with a group when the place was almost empty and waited a good 30 minutes to get our order taken. The waitress seemed annoyed with us from the start. Refused to split the bill so we had to figure things out on our own on the spot. Turned into a really awkward ordeal where she kept chirping us while we tried to settle up. When we were leaving she muttered at us not to come back. Bit of an afternoon ruiner. I wish she could have told us from the start that we weren't welcome there, it would've saved us...

The Inter Steer is a much-loved Roncey haunt with excellent food -- not just regular pub fare, but also excellent pierogi's (you've gotta try the Nachos Pierogi!) -- a quaint back patio, giant screen TV for sports above the pool table in the split-level back half of the bar, and a small TV above the bar playing Turner Classic Movies.
