The place is clean and has pleasant earth decor. There is a 2-seat table and a 4-seat table to dine-in. The service is prompt and polite.
We ordered a light dinner: sharing one dumpling soup (3 pieces that tasted slightly undercooked, so a bit doughy, but the broth was fine), a chef sushi plate that started with miso soup (tasty), then about 14 (?) pieces of sushi: 2 tuna, 3 salmon, 1 red snapper, 1 mackerel, 5 or 6 white fish (not sure the names), all fine, but not rich in flavour nor very fresh, bland actually. The sushi generously topped with salmon roe and tiny red roe was good, the sliced pickled ginger was great, and the wasabi kicked my nostrils into the stratosphere, pleasurably painful.
(Cost for the 2 of us was about $40+)
This is a good place for a casual lunch or dinner, especially take-out specials before 4 pm,but not a place to take a sushi-lover date to impress.

Read morei have a very sensitive stomach so usually food options are never available for me when i’m out and about but i found this place near fairview since sushi is a safe option for me it’s by the freshco and school tucked at the bottom of the apartment building so location wise may be hard for people to see my mom and i were kindly greeted by the owner and we took a seat in the seating area which is relatively small. i guess im assuming its because take out is a lot more common. the sushi was absolutely delicious, it was fresh, well presented and clean. perfect for those with sensitive stomachs. my mom got the teriyaki salmon and i got a combo special of dynamite roll and salmon and everything was so good we finished it all in one go! the workers are all very sweet and they even gave us a delicious starter if you diner in for free! definitely ordering take out or even coming back next time when i get...
Read moreTerrible experience, overpriced poor quality sushi and an incompetent chef.
I ordered the Chef's Choice Sashimi special and received the saddest selection I've ever seen.
I'm not expecting Omakase but if you are selling something called "Chef's Choice" at a premium price it should have a bare minimum level of effort.
Instead of receiving a variety of different sashimi, half of the pieces were just salmon sashimi stuck together and watery as if they were just thawed out. The other pieces were just varieties of tuna - well there was butterfish but they call it "white tuna" on the menu lol, - along with Maguro and that cheap seared tuna that they sell when they can't sell it fresh anymore. That's literally it, not even a piece of Tako or Hamachi to break up the monotony.
So this is the Chef's personal choice of sashimi?...
