Kelseys Original Roadhouse — Restaurant in Toronto

Family of 4 went for dinner; service was not good to say the least. Didn’t feel very inviting, people at table next to us were seated after us but got served first (the server was the granddaughter of one guest so I guess that trumps people who were seated first). Chicken tenders were extremely saucy that ruined taste; chicken fried chicken was extremely dry and batter dark - change the oil. Kids chicken fingers were also dark and dry. Thai Urey bowl was mediocre.our server who didn’t introduce herself was not very friendly and almost seemed put out when we asked for drink refills. We will never return here - Jack Astors is our regular dine out but we wanted to try something different and very disappointed that we choose this Kelsey’s. I would rate the service zero stars - found her name on the receipt as Athena. First time in many years that I did not tip - once she noticed that we didn’t tip she came to talk to us and tried to put it in us that we didn’t speak up. She did not make us feel welcome - when we were leaving she was complaining to another server - we told her that we would never come back - when I said that people who came after us got attended to first - she said it was the servers gramma - that does not matter to me as it is a restaurant and we were seated first. Extremely disappointed

April 8 - so just to update, as you can see someone from Kelsey’s made a generic comment and asked me to complete a survey - which I did and now 2 weeks after….I have not heard from anyone. Guess the mgmt is the cause for the lack of empathy and hospitality from the staff. May 14 Update - for everyone reading this review, it has been 2 months since our poor visit. We have never heard from anyone at all other than the first reply above that simply asked us to do a survey. As I said - mgmt appears to be the problem. #shame

August 4 Update - just wanted to update anyone reading this review - Mgmt made zero attempt to contact me even with all the updates - clearly the shadow of the leader is the reason behind our poor experience. We have visited Jack Astors by STC 3 times and Boston Pizza twice since our March visit to Kelsey’s and service has been outstanding each time.

Just wanted to share that I NEVER received any call or reach out from Management from this location - not that I expect to now as we are approaching 11months since my visit. But just shows the lack of hospitality and customer care that the location has. I have never and will never step into another kelseys because of the visit we had - Jack Astors...

Disappointed, unsatisfactory and unacceptable behaviour. Kelseys is my go to place for good food and good time, but the one at 50 Cinemart dr. was a letdown in every way possible. Went there for dinner with my wife and 2 year old on sept 3rd evening. Ordered our drinks, appetizers and food for our son and told the waitress we will order our mains after the appetizers. Our drinks and kids meal came really quick, but our appetizers of just 1 order of 10 wings didn’t come till 45 min after and that too after letting them know. And when it came it was without plates, cutlery, not even napkins. When asked the waitress gave a very unpleasant and least bothersome reply that they became very busy. I really don’t get it, only half of the place was having people, that too not too many as I have seen at other locations and when other people around where getting their food on time, how this only happens to us. It was really upsetting. We went there to enjoy a nice family dinner and ended up coming back without dinner and just the wings and kids meal (for my son) that too without the cookies we ordered after spending more than 1.5 hrs there. My suggestion is if you don’t have people who knows how to make customers feel welcomed or comfortable, then get them ASAP or please shut this branch off rather than showing a kind of discrimination which I strongly felt. And stop giving a bad name...

Came on Sunday around 3:30pm for lunch. We walked in and waited for 15 mins to have someone greet and seat us. We sat at our table for 20 minutes and no one is coming around. Then walked over and asked for someone to come over and take our orders. We were then told by the waitress the service will be very slow, just to let you know, as we are taking care of a large group. Our drinks come and appetizers. I need a refill, and you guessed correct..... there is no one coming over. I get up, a look for a waitress and ask for a refill. After 10 minutes, my refill comes. Then our food comes, I asked for ketchup and same thing again.... no one comes by with it. I wait for 10 minutes, then just get up and walk around all the tables looking for ketchup. This is unbelievably poor service. No one in this restaurant wears a name tag, I have no idea who our waitress is / who is taking care of our section. This place really needs to be visited by head office and all the staff need to be re-trained. After we finished our meals, no one around. We waited for 15 minutes, then I get up and ask anyone for our bill, she asks me who seated you.... I have no idea, as no one wears a name tag at this restaurant. Please do your self a favor, don't come to this location. Instead, go next door to Boston Pizza. We have been there 3 times now,...
