King's Delight — Restaurant in Toronto

Update 2024 Kings delight has improved on it's service and wait time are now good. They recently did a remodel so the interior is updated and clean. Gone are the tables for sit down making it a take out only joint.

Food is fresh and you can smell it half a block away as early as 10am. KD is consistently on their delivery and quality. Price makes you wonder if they are non profit. At $6, you get a quarter leg, medium box of rice and cole slaw. Make sure you ask for ox tail gravy or the rice gets really dry

Be sure to get the jerk chicken and fried chicken. Jerk chicken has a really nice coating of their jerk seasoning. It coats the skin and flavors penetrate deep. The fried chicken has a nice seasoning mix that is very different from KFC. It's hard to explain but it's very comforting.

2022 Food is amazing but service very slow. Need better system. Here's a system that might work better.

Since they have 2 front staff, I suggest:

Employeee A manage: taking order collecting payment bag food when employee A has capacity, assists in the kitchen. Employee B: take directions from employee A only prepare the orders Move all the food to the kitchen. There is no need to display your food. It tastes so good that it can speak for itself. I had eaten at this location many times with my girlfriend; we ate there at least once a week for the past two years. Today, Saturday August 11 at 4:00pm we went in for our typical $5.00 fried and BBQ Chicken combo and it was an awful experience. I am caucasian and my girlfriend is Asian. The staff treated us very poorly as we did not share their ethnicity and we both felt as if the staff were acting in a manner that was based on our race. Racism should never be permitted in this world let alone any service industry. This is the most appalling experience I have had in any restaurant. The staff ignored myself for quite a few minutes, tried to take the order from the client behind us after we had waited in line for a long time. They hand picked us the worst pieces of chicken that they had, and gave us rice from a different container than any other customer who came from their ethnicity or culture. It was by far the WORST meal I have ever received in my life and I would NEVER eat at this location ever again. Sadly, they have lost my business and I will never tip highly there...

This place is great for those who enjoy Caribbean food at a very low price. But I need to speak my mine the rice and peas this week when I I was driving home and got out of my car only to notice that the rice and peas. Is starting to spoil. Ppl speak up about the rice and peas the owner needs to know that this is happening. One thing I forgot to mention the food from this restaurant you can not leave it over nite because when you heat it up the next day because the food tastes bad. If you don’t believe me I implore you to try it. This food is not always fresh. Only the fry chicken is good when eaten the next day. People please stop paying with your debit card at this restaurant call Kings Delight they are over charging you for their food. $13.00 when pay with debit card the add an extra $2 on to your bill.
