La Diperie Danforth — Restaurant in Toronto

Came here on May 20, 2024 at around half past 12 in the morning.

I purchased a drink called sweet strawberry, which is a sugarcane and strawberry base drink that costed me about $5.60. The item on the menu displayed on the TV screen, clearly showed sugarcane and strawberry.

The person who took my order at the counter was the same person who made my drink. He basically served me strawberry syrup in water and ice.

When I asked about the sugarcane, he said that this was how he was supposed to make it, that there is no sugarcane in the drink. In fact, with respect, he further tried to explain to me about the sugar in the syrup, that it was sourced from sugarcane, which was completely irrelevant and ridiculously nonsensical.

The person at the counter was kind and persistent in justifying how the strawberry syrup was all that was supposed to be in the drink. I don’t blame the person at the counter, the service was good. But the SCAM is that the item I asked for and the item I received are two...

Mr. Mackenzie ur review below is the A#1 greatest, spot on review of an ice cream store I have ever read!! As far as internet reviews go I don't think anything so bold has been written thus far. What could hold a candle to ur magnum opus here I can only guess. Al Gore should be notified of ur great achievement here. I am serious.

As a person who himself is sometimes intimidated by human interactions I see how ur experience was upsetting and I laud u for condemning these minor slights with ur massive wall of heavy handed corrective and helpful text to educate and reform these ice swilling Latins.

The complete disregard of paragraphs screams "I am a man hear my words of truth!" In a world so full of compliments not earned, forgiveness and second chances I fully endorse the hard line u have taken.

A few months ago, we received a dozen donuts delivery from our friend from the Downtown location. That was the first time we tried La Diperie donuts, and that was the best donut we ever tasted. We were impressed by the packaging too.

Today, I went all the way to the Markham location (drove 30 minutes) to pick up a dozen donuts to deliver to a special person (CEO of a company) and bought half a dozen donuts for us too.

I came home and tasted it and the worst donuts I ever had in my life. Yuck! Fricking a week-old donuts and tasted like stale oil. And not enough dipping.

I am so disappointed and feel bad about giving it to this special person who helped me a lot.

I went to their website to give my feedback, but there was no place to send it. Wow! Arrogant.

I honestly thought it was a great brand to gift someone special. So disappointed!
