BUUUSSSHHH LEAGUE. The proposed high end restaurant that play musical servers and a foody fan favourite guess your server. We showed up for dinner and entered into the restaurant and waited by the hostess booth and no one showed up( ahh the intrigue) we waited for awhile and then decided to enter into the dining room. We did and after a minute we waived down a waitress who brought us to a nice table. A nice east indian looking waiter came and took our order. Another nice waitress came and brought us some bread and butter with spicy oil and olive dip that was quite nice. We then received some flavourless grilled Calamari that was a bit too charred but still had a nice texture over all. Once we received the appetizers we realized that no one really comes back to check on you so you have to wave them down to bring more wine etc. The wine was actually good really good. Finally our main courses came and was introduced by a third server. Unfortunately the steak was medium well instead of medium rare so I hailed down the first server and he looked acknowledged the mistake and took it back. The steak finally was delivered by a fourth server who dropped down the plate and took off without offering pepper or anything. This time the steak was raw in the middle but I was hungry so I ate it anyway although the outside was once again charred. Don't order anything grilled here the chef is impatient and has the grill on too high. Nobody came to check on us as is the case here unless your in a big group. We finally waived the checkered flag and the original waiter came back with the bill and I asked him what we did for us to pawn us off and he replied they had a group to take care of. Nice guy and honest at least. Service here is weird you have polite servers who ignore you ha ha and take turns bringing you food. Needless to say would never come back here and would suggest you don't come here with a date. Ohh well...
Read moreI came here to La Luce reviews to write a review on my Grandmothers 80th birthday. I must say I was very taken back by the previous review. I have been attending this restaurant for years and let me add my family members are not Italian. Never have we felt discriminated against nor have we ever felt any racism. As a matter of fact we are always treated with the utmost respect. The service in this place is impeccable and servers go out of their way no matter what. I’m really sorry you feel this way, but I have to be honest—my experience at this restaurant has been completely different. I’ve been coming here for six years, and the staff has always been incredibly professional, kind, and welcoming. The team is very diverse, and it’s one of the reasons I love coming back. They treat everyone with respect, no matter who you are. I’ve always seen them go above and beyond for their guests, and I’ve never noticed any of this behavior you are speaking of. In fact, I’ve seen them accommodate all kinds of customers with different needs. I really hope this was just an unfortunate misunderstanding because this place has always made me and my family feel very welcome. Reading this review, it almost feels like you're just upset they didn’t offer you a free meal. Mistakes happen in any restaurant, but I’ve always seen the staff do their best to make things right without anyone having to resort to extreme accusations, but accusing the restaurant of racism and discrimination because of that feels like a stretch. From what I’ve seen, they’ve always treated their guests fairly and with care, and they certainly don’t deserve this kind of criticism. By the way, My grandmothers party was fantastic, flawless, and their food has been top-notch every time, and their steaks are the best in the city.... .It’s a must...
Read moreRACIST and DISCRIMINATION OF THE DISABLED! DO NOT KEEP THEIR WORD!!!The first time I went to this restaurant, I was quite impressed. it was my son‘s graduation party. There was over 10 of us We ordered a lot of food and alcohol and tipped very well. I had to steak dinner with these beautiful greens. Very tasty and mashed potatoes. I was so impressed with the meal that I brought my family from Calgary to have a nice dinner. I ordered the same dinner I ordered my steak, medium rare and the steak came out well done. The food got caught in my braces. The steak was dry. The vegetables tasted horrible. Due to the fact that I was with family out of town, I did not want to make a scene. The next day I called and spoke to the manager and explained what happened.. The food was Not good. The gentleman that I spoke to was so nice. He remembered me because we had my son’s graduation there where we spent a lot of money. We also tipped very well He actually remembered me and he assured me that I could come back and he’ll make the steak for me. Complementary due to their mistake. Since then, I have been in a car accident and have fallen ill with mobility issues I live outside of Toronto so it was hard for me to get there. When I called there today. And explained the situation they told me that manager is no longer with them, and they could no longer honor what he offered me. I found it to be very disheartening and very discriminatory. It made me feel that The accommodation that was made to me was Nolan void because I was disabled and I could not travel the distance to pick up the food. As I explained the situation. The New manager basically said no without any explanation I will never go back to this restaurant because they are discriminatory. I feel racist that...
