Lazeez Shawarma — Restaurant in Toronto

Where to start... Third time there and I've never seen any skewers spinning on the cookers. Are they bringing it in from another location and keeping it warm? This last time I ordered a regular beef and large falafel wraps. Mild and extra hot. I even joked about Xtra Xtra hot and going over their heat scale for the falafel. As I watch the lady put the hot sauce behind the counter on the beef it seemed like a lot. I asked and confirmed it was mild.. she looks at the screen and said yes. I immediately knew something was up based on her expression. As I watched her pour the Xtra Xtra hot sauce on the falafel it seemed like it was the same or less than the beef.. I asked again about the mild and at pointed out what I just saw from behind the counter and at this point she realized and remade the beef at a mild heat level. I drive home and hand my lovely wife her Xtra spicy falafel wrap and we begin to eat. The toppings were switched beef to falafel. Parsley and lettuce were specially ordered separately on each wrap, not to mention other errors.. so I drive back with the wraps to correct it and settle for remaking just the one Xtra hot falafel wrap and I threw the beef wrap, uneaten in the garbage by the front door.. I go over each topping individually one by one, right down to saying the sauces and Xtra Xtra hot.. she asked "pardon". I said extra hot. She understood.. I get the wrap and drive back home yet again.. as I watch my wonderful wife eat her falafel wrap and use the hot sauce we have at home I then realize there was zero hot sauce on the wrap. With Osmow's half a block over and two brothers north just at Eglinton, I recommend going to one of those...

I have lazeez shawarma regular (8 inches) at other locations. It's one of my favorites.

When I saw Lazeez opened so close to my house I was happy.

I ordered dinner for my family - 5 reg shawarmas (8 inches). To my surprise they appeared much smaller size than my previous times. So I measured using my child's ruler. Each shawarma was 2 inches shorter. Which totals 10 inches.

(If you sell 500 shawarma per day = 1000inches)

So I just called their number to report the issue. As I felt scammed. Unfortunately, the lady who responded said that this is the 8 inches size. And the vegetable stuffing might be less.

I told her that if it was 1 shawarma, it would have been an acceptable mistake but all 5 shawarma regular had the same problem?

Special note to the owner - Please re-train the staff to do a better job. Also please try to maintain the brand. Please provide the proper bread size so that the staff is not harassed. Also please pay special attention to the taste.

I will try to order again next month but I will try only 1 shawarma. If it doesn't meet my expectations I will not be a regular customer at this lazeez location.(Maybe it will not matter to you)

There are quite a few competitors with similar items and better service around us.(but we really need a better lazeez shawarma in...

I was incredibly excited to try out this place, but was very disappointed at the end of the day.

The service was weird. The two ladies were treating me like I was the subject of a training video. They were asking me A LOT of questions and reciting their entire menu. I just wanted a beef shawarma plate. That was it. No need to keep me for an extra 2 minutes to explain what "on the rocks" is. If I didn't know I'd ask.

The shawarma was also grabbed from a bin, they didn't bother to heat it up on the flat top either. I opted for a side of fries which they gave a generous portion of, then 2 seconds later took out 3/4 of to give to the next customer I guess.

On adding sauces I asked for a light line of hot sauce. They responded by putting 2 drops in one container and drenching the other container with hot sauce. I mean, it was leaking hot sauce.

I didn't say anything at the time because I thought I'd give it a shot, if it tasted good I'd come back.

But no. It did not taste good. The rice was completely flavorless. The shawarma was DRY but looked soggy and also flavorless. I honestly thought I had covid with how tasteless the meal was.

If you want good shawarma go to two brothers up the road on eglinton. Even osmows is better...
