Ok. Ok. I am going to try to separate the reason we are at the venue from the venue itself. So, the game is over, the home team’s still on fire, and it is time to go home. But wait! We cannot leave because the path out crosses where the players exit the field, so barriers are up, and everyone compresses in this space, waiting for the barriers to lift. So, we say we shall go out the opposite way, makes for a longer walk back to the car, but at least we’re moving right. Wait! What’s this?! A barrier at this exit, too?! After witnessing some heated exchanges between those staffing the barriers and those simply wanting to go home, we all turned around and went back the other way. (Anyone watching from above would be howling with laughter at this point.) Some folk tried to exit through the BMO Club doorway, but the staff securing that for club (“I would not belong to any club that would have me as a member.”) members-only would have none of it. More raised voices. Luckily, someone opened a door beside this one, and we could see a light at the end of the tunnel. All of us, in rather orderly fashion, it was after all a small corridor, proceeded through the door, down a hallway, past offices and great Argos artwork and pictures, and out into the night! We were free! Free at last! Was actually a good exit for us, and a nice walk to the Green P parking lot. Please, please see what you can do to allow attendees to exit with as little fuss as possible. Sure, it’s great to see the payers shuffle by, if that’s your jam, but I think most people just want to start their journey home. I remember the cussing and yelling following last year’s Eastern Conference Final, as we had to wait at the barriers. Depending on one’s choice of beverages during a several hour long event, patience and understanding can wear rather thin. I checked stadium FAQs for clues on how to exit easily, but found none. Granted, I have not spent years and years attending games, and know this venue like the back of my hand, but it seemed like there is a disconnect between the desire to leave and the ability to leave. I allow that my inexperience at this location, plus an inherent poor sense of direction may be at the root of this frustration. And someone else is going to say, “All you have to do is go this way, man” shaking their head in disbelief at my disbelief. But until that...

Read moreHere’s a I recently attended a Toronto FC match at BMO Field and was struck by how well this venue blends energy, comfort, and convenience. The stadium, originally built in 2007 and expanded over the years, now holds over 30,000 fans for soccer and nearly 45,000 for big events like FIFA World Cup matches .
The atmosphere is electric—especially in the south end, home to the supporters’ section, complete with flags and chants, and that contagious stadium buzz . Despite its age, the design feels modern—thanks to expansions over the past decade, with a roof covering most seating and two-tiered stands along the sidelines .
Seating is comfortable: molded plastic buckets with decent legroom. Premium areas like the BMO Club and Tunnel Club offer wider field-level seats, ledges for drinks, and lounge access. The Tunnel Club seats even let you get field‑side with players entering the pitch—the trade‑off being slightly reduced distant sightlines .
Concessions are a highlight. There’s a wide variety—from standard stadium fare to poutine, Pizza Pizza, porchetta paninis, and craft beer selections in the King Club area . Free Wi‑Fi adds convenience .
Logistics are user‑friendly: well‑placed transit access, stroller‑friendly entrances, sensory‑inclusion options, and a smoke‑free policy contribute to a welcoming environment .
Sure, some seats are basic, but the live crowd energy, solid amenities, and convenient downtown location make BMO Field a top-tier experience. Whether you’re a hardcore fan or a first-timer, it’s...
