We attended this restaurant on a Friday evening. We were seated down. We never got the menus when we were seated so we took a look online. Furthermore, we were left with empty glasses- we weren’t provided water until much later. We waited for our food about 1 hour, if not more before we got what we ordered. My friend ordered a salad- which was never brought out before the mains. The table that arrived after us was served before us. Moreover, everyone’s salads were being brought out, except my friend’s. To be honest, I felt like the server was ignoring us. After about 35 mins of waiting, we were told that our food is coming out soon. After about 50 mins of waiting, we followed up again and we were told that it’s there coming out. I asked when the salad will be coming out. The answer that we were given was “I told them”. My friend’s salad barely had Parmesan cheese on it- she had to ask for more. The pasta I ordered was good. The service, not so much. They did provide one tiramisu to our table, on the house due to their service. Also, normally restaurants provide us with a copy of the order receipt. I was never provided this, instead the total was punched into the machine without being provided with that copy. I confirmed if this was for my order- she then showed me the copy, and I realized I was charged for a part of my friends salad as well. Also, we were never asked if we would like a copy of our receipt.
I hope that this is a one off and would like to give it a benefit of the doubt that because it’s newly opened, they’re still trying to...
Read moreAfter all the hype had to go and visit!
As a preface, I have to say that whenever a place has such outstanding reviews and is a 5 star, expectations are usually mismatched.
Let's break it down.
Grilled shrimp: great flavour, a bit overcooked. Would recommend.
Octopus: first round was fairly overcooked. Octopus is also pretty hard to cook in all fairness. I saw lots of photos about it so figured I'd give it a go - but found it quite tough and didn't really want to finish. The staff were great and asked what was wrong / wanted the chance to remake the dish. I was a bit apprehensive but agreed. Second round was definitely better! But still a bit tough. Probably wouldn't recommend this spot as an octopus joint.
Pizza: we got a marinara with burrata. It was definitely solid. It could have had a little bit more olive oil and salt. Not sure if it's fair but I was hoping for something a bit closer to badiali's. It was good but not quite where I was hoping.
Pasta: their mushroom chicken pasta was quite good. 0 complaints with that. If that's the kind of dish you like I think you'd be quite happy. Also their carbonara was super authentic - would recommend.
Service was very good! The girls servicing us were quite sweet and accommodating.
We stayed on the patio - it was cute! It's a tad busy because of the road nearby but I didn't have any complaints about the atmosphere.
Overall, I think it's a solid addition to the neighborhood and happy...

The food truly stands out, particularly the veal-stuffed ravioli, which was rich, tender, and perfectly complemented by a classic tomato sauce. The gnocchi, also served with tomato sauce, was equally impressive—light, fluffy, and full of comforting flavor. Both pasta dishes were a testament to the kitchen’s skill with traditional Italian fare.
The apple burrata appetizer, while an interesting concept, could have used more depth or contrast in flavor to make it memorable. On the beverage side, the Pellegrino would have been more enjoyable served in a glass of ice rather than straight from the bottle.
The biggest drawback was the wait: it took nearly 50 minutes for our pasta to arrive, despite the restaurant being largely empty. This slow pace detracted from an otherwise excellent experience and may be a concern for those on...
