had a mixed experience. While the gelato served here is undoubtedly delicious, the behavior of the older lady who works there left much to be desired, particularly when it comes to service animal owners.
Let's start with the positive aspect of my visit – the gelato. The flavors were rich, creamy, and truly a treat for the taste buds. From classics like chocolate and vanilla to unique and inventive options, offers a wide variety of flavors that cater to different preferences. The quality of the gelato is undeniably excellent, and I highly recommend trying it out.
Unfortunately, the poor customer service I encountered overshadowed the enjoyable gelato experience. As a service animal owner, I expected to be treated with respect and understanding, but the older lady working there displayed a rude demeanor. When she asked for my documentation to verify my service animal, I provided it promptly on my phone. However, when I politely asked her not to touch my cellphone, she completely disregarded my request and snatched it from my hand. Her actions were unprofessional and lacked basic courtesy.
Service animal owners deserve the same level of respect and consideration as any other customer. It is important for staff members to be knowledgeable about service animal rights and to approach interactions with sensitivity. Unfortunately, this particular staff member failed to meet these expectations, leaving me disappointed and frustrated.
I sincerely hope that the management at Lola gelato addresses this issue and provides appropriate training for their employees regarding customer service, especially when it involves service animal owners. It is essential to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers.
I hope that the management takes this feedback into consideration and improves the training and professionalism of their...
Read moreWent to try the gelato here after researching as we were in the area. They have a limited number of gelato flavours but they also have sorbet and a few non-gelato options. The gelato flavours we tried were all fresh and delicious. I tried the Ferraro Roche and it was awesome. Everyone else I was with enjoyed theirs very much. And we all tried different flavours. The prices are quite reasonable. This place is taking all safety precautions necessary and limiting how many people can enter at a time. Excellent and friendly service.
I’m taking away a star as there is extremely limited paid street parking in this area and Lolas is on the main floor of a building (condo?) and does not have its own parking. I got very lucky finding a spot. As someone that lives in the suburbs, and rarely has this issue,I do feel it necessary to point out this shortcoming so that if someone does want to go here they are aware this will be a major challenge if driving.
The parking issues, and general traffic chaos, is a big reason I avoid Toronto when possible and doubt I will...
Read moreLola’s Gelato is a must-visit if you’re a gelato lover. We ordered two double scoops in waffle cones, and everything was amazing. One cone had Hazelnut and Cherry Cheesecake, and the other had Pistachio and Pumpkin Spice. Each flavour was creamy, smooth, and packed with real flavour, the Hazelnut was rich and nutty, the Cherry Cheesecake had a perfect balance of tangy and sweet, the Pistachio was earthy and authentic, and the Pumpkin Spice had just the right amount of warmth and spice for something different. It’s rare to find gelato with this much depth in every scoop.
The waffle cones were also fantastic, fresh, crunchy, and sturdy enough to hold the generous servings without getting soggy. You can tell they pay attention not just to the gelato but to every detail of the experience.
Overall, Lola’s Gelato is the perfect spot for a sweet treat, whether you’re strolling by or making a special trip. Definitely recommend if you’re nearby and craving something delicious...
