This is one of the best bakeries in Toronto. I needed some simple rustic white bread, something that most bakeries in Toronto can't get right, but was pleasantly surprised to find Mabel's can. Excellent quality, and while I usually make it myself, when I can't, this is my go to place. Other stuff, their baguette is great, I really like their croissants, their cinnamon buns are more cakey/bready than other places, but excellent if you like that style. Great cookies, great brownies, but the reason to go out of your way is their flourless chocolate tart. This is next level good. It's got a very intense chocolate flavour, it's soft, moist and just perfect. 10/10 just for the chocolate tart, but it's the simple bread that keeps me coming back.

A cute bakery we stopped by on our walk down St Clair. They don’t have tok many things but their freshly baked bread looked super fresh and delicious so we grabbed a loaf. We also grabbed a veggie empanada and an almond chocolate croissant both of which were very tasty. The bakery offers a good collection of frozen and fresh meals. They also have cheeses and meats perfect for some anti pasto. We tried their chicken pot pie which was topped with biscuits instead of a traditional pie and it was pretty yummy. Would love to come back for more!

I was looking for mince pies and they only had mince tarts, The taste was amazing, nice and sweet with crunchy pastry, I would git the pie a 8.2 out of 10 because for me, needs a top with a little sugar on top too "yum" . Tho I would say, they're a little bit on the expensive side as I would have gotten more than the four I got. Overall I'd say try what you like here and give an honest review but let everyone know what it is you bought. I'm definitely coming back but I might have to try harder to haggle the price.

Not Smashing IT!

This bakery used to be so good years ago.

It appears they may just be going downhill and in a very bad way as well.

The products may look appealing, but once you bite into them, you'll realize immediately that the taste and quality just isnt there.

And they're very expensive as well.

I used to always buy the Sour Dough Bread. And it used to be so good!

Yesterday, I purchased the Sour Dough Bread, and it just didn't have that same flare and zippiness to it that it used to. It also looks a lot smaller. For $7.99, that's a ridiculous price to be charging considering the lack of quality.

I also bought this Cinnamon Loaf. It looked so good sitting there on top of the showcase! But it cost a ridiculous $8.99, but i thought hey way not give it a try they clearly can't muck up a cinnamon loaf, now can they? Oh yes, they can 🫨

Yikes.

When I got home and dived my teeth into the cinnamon loaf to my great sadness, it was extremely dense and dry. It lacked sweetness, and I didn't even taste any cinnamon. It wasn't fresh either, which really upsets me. I could have used it as a door stopper come to think of it 🤔

Listen, if you're going to call yourself a bakery and you're going to charge the prices that you charge, you better be using good quality ingredients, and those products better be fresh. Very fresh. Not day old.

So, all in all, I spent $18 bucks on not very good quality products.

It's too bad because this bakery was really good one time, but what you see just doesn't deliver when you give the food a taste.

Two years ago, I bought their homemade strawberry jam, and when I got home, it was pure water. I knew right then and there that this bakery, in my opinion, was tanking.

So yesterday, when I decided to give them another try, I realized immediately that it looks like nothing has changed since that strawberry jam incident of two years ago 🙄

The quality of the food is dull, not very flavorful, and way WAY...

Extremely Disappointed with Quality and Service

Check reviews below and read the truth

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this bakery was disappointing enough that I felt it needed to be shared. First and foremost, the food was noticeably stale — pastries that should have been light and fresh were dry, hard, and tasted like they had been sitting out for far too long. When you visit a bakery, you expect freshness to be a top priority, but that clearly wasn’t the case here.

To make matters worse, the customer service was just as underwhelming. The staff seemed disinterested and unfriendly, almost as if helping customers was an inconvenience. There was no warm welcome, no smiles, and certainly no effort to make the experience enjoyable. I asked a simple question about one of the items in the display, and the response was curt and unhelpful.

Overall, it felt like neither the quality of the food nor the treatment of customers is a priority at this place. With so many great bakeries around, there’s really no reason to waste time or money here. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this bakery to anyone looking for good food or...

I had visited with my mother to the Mabel's Café yesterday in the evening hours, was greeted with hospitality from Noor and Caroline, they both did a great job in attending us as customers and other customers with heart warming ❤️ matcha tea 🍵 and spinach patties with my mother 👩. I really appreciate their customer service and it was a very warm atmosphere for the customers. Overall, I felt very belonged and appreciate the services Noor and Caroline provided. I don't have pictures of the items and Bakery shop which was decorated nicely. It was elegantly decorated with Halloween 🎃 decorations. The good thing about this Bakery is they use gluten-free and organic wheat. I can never count the gratitude on the customer service that I had received from Noor and Caroline at the Mabel's Bakery. This is a message to the owner that please keep running and maintain the warm atmosphere and aroma of this Bakery in the near future. You guys are doing a great job 👏 👍 🙌 👌 😀. Keep up the good...
