It takes a lot for a restaurant to make my list of top five and so it speaks volumes that FK ranks amongst my all time favorite restaurants, not just in the city, but of all time. I think if I had to capture the essence of what makes this restaurant feel so special and memorable it's because it truly feels like they've achieved the perfect balance in every aspect of the dining experience: it's fine dining and impeccable presentation, but it's not stuffy or pretentious. The staff are warm, relaxed and friendly, while still providing world class customer service. The food is flavorful, bold and innovative, while still offering flavors and taste profiles that are familiar, comforting, and nostalgic. I feel like they genuinely care about your experience and about exhibiting incredible hospitality and showcase this through every detail - be it the house made crusty bread and red pepper spread that you're welcomed with, the complimentary hand crafted chocolates you're presented with at the end of the meal, or the time and attention taken to walk you through the menu and curate your dining experience, it's truly something so special. While on the topic of their menu, FK offers an ever changing selection of contemporary European cuisine with inspiration from modern Canadiana. They put a huge emphasis on made in-house and sourcing seasonal ingredients that are local to the area.

OUR ORDER • SABLEFISH — Miso butter, sautéed spinach, braised fennel • 10 oz DRY AGED PRIME STRIPLOIN — Mixed mushrooms, shallot jus • NOVA SCOTIA SCALLOP — Freshly shucked scallops, citrus rhubarb mignonette • OXTAIL TORTELLINI — Chanterelle fricassee • GEM LETTUCE — Crispy bacon, sourgough crouton, parmesan anchovy vinaigrette • SHRIMP & LOBSTER CEVICHE — Pico de gallo, pasilla purée • ROSEMARY FRITES • HOUSEMADE FOCACCIA — with red pepper spread Every single dish was masterfully executed, inventive, and visually stunning! The plates were incredibly refined and had a flavor profile that was elevated and so well balanced. I can recommend this restaurant enough for a romantic night out as a couple, or a special meal with...

I had a beautiful dinner for the first time at FK. Welcoming and knowledgable staff, amazing service and the food was remarkable. I would highly recommend. I'm already counting down the days I can go and try their new brunch.

We started our dinner with cocktails. I opted for a twist on a traditional negroni - a refreshing cocktail with campari, gin, grapefruit and soda. It was well balanced and hit the spot.

Appetizers were plentiful and the Oysters Rockefeller were perfectly baked, which was lovely considering they are a hard dish in my opinion to master.

The raw oysters offered that night were raspberry points so we had to get half a dozen. The four house-made accoutrements were the best I've ever had: the horseradish so fresh and fluffy that the shavings stuck to each other like little clouds. My girl friend said the mignonette was so delicious she could have drank it by itself.

The prime beef tartare with shaved black truffles was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The house cured meat, not surprisingly, also fantastic.

We shared seared scallops and the dry aged prime striploin for our mains with accompanying wine pairings. We couldn't choose red or white, so we had both. The scallops were quite possibly the best I have ever eaten. The striploin juicy and tender, topped with more shaved black truffles? Yes, please - always more truffles.

We somehow saved room for sticky toffee pudding, an Insta-worthy dessert that made the table next to us jealous they didn't order it. The chocolate truffles served with our bill were also creamy and delicious and the perfect touch.

I've read about Frank Parhizgar's cooking from past 'old school' food critics (rave reviews from even the toughest) and think that almost 10 years after the original Frank's Kitchen opened on College St. that his food has stood the test of time, and he continues to create...

UPDATE: So I went to FK with a large party for a 50th bday party. The service was top notch, the food was excellent, and the evening was beautiful and organized. We all pre-selected our appetizer and our mains prior to the evening and when we all arrived, our table was ready with pre printed name place cards. This greatly helped in assuring everyone got the right selection. Because of how highly organized this was, everyone got to enjoy their evening catching up and talking instead of pouring over menu details. Everyone who attended was impressed by how seamless it was for a large party. If you are planning an evening with a larger number of people, I highly recommend FK. From start to finish, it was perfect. Thank you Shawn, Frank and the rest of the team for a beautiful night! I've been going to this restaurant since they were originally located on College. I keep going back for several reasons as follows in no specific order. It feels like family. Shawn the hostess greets you like you are a long lost friend, she smiles and is genuninly happy to see you. The staff & service is excellent. They are very knowledgeable about their wines/cocktails and the food being served. And the food, my god, the food has alawys been excellent. I have never been disappointed by any of the dishes I have ever had.

I was there with a couple of friends this past Saturday for the early seating. It was the 1st restaurant that I've been to since they reopened, and they did not disappoint.

The level of excellence became even more apparent as later that evening I had to meet friends at another resuarant downtown.

I look forward to going again very soon, as I know, I am guaranteed a...

This Michelin-rated restaurant offers intricately prepared dishes with remarkable attention invested into every detail from seasoning to plating. The exterior of this location is rather unassuming, but the interior demonstrates plenty of care and design. The restaurant is quite small but the tables are well placed and diners are not packed cheek to jowl. The freshly baked bread that evening was packed full of subtle flavours. The cocktails were well mixed and tasted as wonderful as they looked. The stuffed zucchini flowers appetizer was well made and delicious. On the other hand, the lobster and prawn ceviche was a little underwhelming considering the quality of the rest of the dishes. Instead of calling it ceviche, they should have simply named the dish seafood appetizer because it was far removed from both the taste and texture of traditional ceviche. We had grilled lamb chops as well as veal as our mains. Both were cooked to perfection. As sides we ordered morel mushrooms and onion rings, and they were phenomenal. I wish the mushrooms were prepared without the heavy sauce to allow the true flavour of the fungi to shine on its own. Desserts of lemon and peach sorbets were outstanding! However, the macchiato was below expectations - it was sour and didn't taste fresh. Overall, it was definitely a 5-star experience!
