My mom and I took a chance to try something completely new and we were so pleased. We don't normally go out for Indian food in general, and when we do, we stick to what we know - which is very limited (curry, Biryani). Furthermore, we had no idea about Guajarati food, but we saw this place had great reviews and we decided to try it.
Thank goodness for Google reviews because we wouldn't know what to pick. But with the help of the reviews and a very nice lady working at the time, we tried the following:
Fixed Thali with mango pudding x1 Roti x4 Chili chutney x1 Karnavati dabeli x2
The total for us came to $17.50.
There was so much food! We only ordered one fixed thali to share and were pleasantly surprised by everything - especially the soup. It was not the yogurt one. It was red, and sweet. It helped tamper the spice of the vegetables because it was slightly sweet.
The dabeli was amazing. It had peanuts in it, and we had to share one because we were getting so full!
The mango pudding topped everything off because it was light and sweet.
Overall, this was an amazing experience. My mom felt she was not in Scarborough while eating there. This place completly transported us somewhere else!
I highly recommend this place. If you are not familiar with Guajarati food, but curious to try, go here. Be open to new tastes. And ask questions with a smile. The people who work here...
Read moreWe were driving all the way from Montreal and called ahead to confirm that their unlimited thali would be available all day. The staff agreed, so we made the stop. When we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty, yet we waited 14 minutes just to place an order. After the long drive, we were then told that the person who makes roti was not available, and the thali wasn’t being served—despite confirming earlier on the phone. We decided to order a few snacks instead: vada pav, sev usal, and ghughara. Unfortunately, the experience only got worse. The sev usal was stale, overcooked, and had no taste. The vada pav arrived after 20 minutes, cold and completely bland. The ghughara never came at all, even after waiting. What was most disappointing was the lack of customer service. Even after realizing we hadn’t eaten anything, the staff still charged us for all three items (including the one we never received). When we expressed our concerns, the front lady seemed completely unconcerned and unwilling to acknowledge the issue. Overall, this was the most unhygienic, unprofessional, and disappointing restaurant experience we’ve had in Canada. Fake promises, poor service, low-quality food, and absolutely no regard for customers. Definitely would...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this amazing Gujarati restaurant, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive.
The food was absolutely delicious! Each dish was bursting with authentic flavors, showcasing the rich culinary heritage of Gujarat. I highly recommend trying their Dhokla and Khandvi as starters—perfectly spiced and incredibly fresh. The main course, including the thali, was an explosion of vibrant flavors with generous portions, and the variety made it a complete feast. The chutneys and pickles were a perfect complement to the dishes, adding an extra layer of taste.
To finish off, their traditional sweets like Jalebi and Basundi were the perfect end to an already fantastic meal. Every bite was a celebration of Gujarati cuisine, and it’s clear that they take great pride in every dish they serve.
If you’re looking for an authentic and memorable dining experience, this is definitely the place to go! Will definitely be coming...
