I been going to this location for 20 years and their food has not been bad, but recently their quality has gone down the drain! I order food today and came home. I live in picking. I never post about any restaurant because we are all humans and make mistakes. However, I feel like this is the last straw. So as we were eating, I found a sharp, hard green plastic piece inside their chicken pakora and my husband found a plastic sting-like thing in the chilli chicken. This is not the first time I’ve found dangerous objects in their food. A few years ago I found a GLASS PIECE in the chilli chicken and a time after that I found a piece of that metal wire from those pot scrubbers also in the chilli chicken. This just goes to show they do not follow proper food handling procedures and most likely wash their meat directly in the sink! Tonight I called back and spoke to the lady who took my order. I told her what I found and she said bring it back so we can tell the cook, so they don’t make the same mistake again. I said I am not able to as I live in picking and don’t want for her to replace the food and asked for a refund and she started getting rude and wouldn’t even let me speak. She raised her voice and said she doesn’t want to “listen to my crap” and told me don’t come back to their restaurant and that they will not be taking my order again. Instead of an apology and asking how she can can fix the issue, she made it seem like it was MY FAULT?! Tf? I threw out the food and will be contacting public health! DO BETTER LUCKYS!!

For more than a decade I been ordering same food (2 Manchurian mixed fried rice, one of them extra spicy and 1 chilli chicken dry) at midland and Lawrence location. I never had any issues. Even though this location (Scarborough golf club) is closer than midland and Lawrence to me, I hesitate to order here because some of my friends complained they always mess up the order. Today I was in hurry I end up ordering here. I asked for one extra spicy one regular spice Manchurian mixed fried rice. I gave it to my kids they both complained it was sweet. Even the extra spicy one was sweet. It had lot of big pc of onion, chicken was sweet. I called and complained, they asked to bring it back to replace it. Unfortunately it was almost closing time I would not make it till 10:10 even if I left right away. I requested if they can deliver or wait for 10-15 min. They refused to wait even for extra min. They asked to bring it next day if I needed credit. I told them I would have to bring it after work and it will be hard for me. I requested if they can wait few min extra and they refused. Later I called back few time to tell them I will bring back after work but after seeing my number they did not pick my phone even though it was before 10 pm. Very disappointed with the service. Waste of my money. Never ever going back to this location again.

When there were no Hakka restaurants in GTA, this was amongst the very few that we visited almost three decades ago. While in the area we decided to stop by with family to see how it now stands up to 100s new Hakka restaurants. The owners have changed for sure since then. The inside is still the same as I remember with new table and chairs. Still clean and tidy. The service is still good. The owner/manager gives to personal service and answered all of our ingredient questions. Our taste buds have evolved and the competitors are feeding us dishes that are more amplified than the ones we got here. Our favourite Manchurian Pakorra in gravy was OK. Not bad, but the pakoras were to big and just doughy. The gravy again OK. The Tofu Chilli not hugely spicy and felt under seasoned to us. The Fried Rice was again very plain. Noodles were OK and the same goes for Szechuan Mixed Veggies. Felt as if we are eating at a traditional Chinese restaurant rather than Indian style Hakka restaurant.

Spent nearly $600 on catering from here for my wife's birthday this past weekend, because this used to be my wife's favourite restaurant as a kid. Ordered 2x Large Trays of Chili Chicken, 1x Veg Fried Rice, 1x Chicken Fried Rice, and 1x Veggie Delight. The food - the rice specifically - was spoiled. You could smell it as soon as we unwrapped the foil - they either used old rice or old ingredients or both. This was gravely disappointing and infuriating in so many ways: the embarrassment in front of our nearly 40 guests. The fact that people could not eat the carbs at all and those that ate might end up sick is horrifying. The amount of money we'd spent -- when we could've catered from elsewhere for a fraction of the cost is infuriating. Granted: the chicken tasted and seemed fresh, so that's what people ate, but that's ALL our guests had. My mother in law called to complain and was told we'd hear back from a manager yesterday (1/14/24)... we did not. They claimed that they told us the Veggie Delight should be served within 2 hours, which is fair and valid and we did serve it within two hours - but that isn't the gripe here. The food was spoilt upon receipt. This wasn't a matter of 'we served it way later and the food did not taste good' it was literally inedible. We tossed out all of the carbs. Whatever the restaurant's reply to this review will be, it's all inexcusable and a potential health hazard. I'm not "just" an angry reviewier. In fact look through my history. I try to go out of my way to mostly and ONLY review positive experiences at restaurants. Don't take my review with a grain of salt and let this restaurant remain what it is to all of us: a fond memory of a place that served delicious food from a time that is now long gone. I can't emphasize enough how much you...

I am warning you about the quality of their food. The food was ordered for a birthday party. We ordered vegetarian and chicken fried rice, vegie delight and chilli chicken. When I ordered, they asked me to pick up the food two hours before serving because vegie delight won’t be good after two hours. I picked up the food and took it to downtown. I was the first person who wanted to start eating. As soon as I remove the foil from fried rice, I smelt of rotten onion. I thought I was wrong, they can’t serve rotten onion if they follow health inspection rules. I tried both rice and it was tasted so old. It looked like they did not make fresh and they gave very old food. All the guests tried rice, but did not say anything. They might be nice and did not complain, just did not finish after they took rice in their plate. It was not possible to come from downtown to Scarborough and show then the food. I called them next day and complained. The lady said her manager would call and guess what? Me or my son in law never got a call from them. Another thing they did really bad. When my son in law ordered the food, he asked them how much food to order. They are very greedy and dishonest. They told him to take two large tray of chilli chicken and two large tray of rice for 30 people. As an event planner, I usually call restaurant and ask for how much to order for my guests. Most of the places suggest well and no food wasted. This place, the amount of food my son in law ordered, he could feed at least 80 people. He spent $572 for the food and most of the food went to garbage. I did not find this place is trustable. I don’t know how they are doing business without handling food properly. Health department must inspect their kitchen. Good luck whoever cater their food...
