If I wanted to be this disappointed I'd call my Dad.
It all started when the Raps won game 6 and I won some free Fry's. I went to my local McDonald's to rake in the rewards. Arrived in the parking lot. Booted up the app and no bueno. The app wouldn't load, just left me at the splash screen.
So against my better judgement I took the trek inside. Headed for the self serve terminal. Ordered my combo and proceeded to look for the free fry offer. Nothing was there. But I had the email from a few hours before so I knew it was real. So hungry I proceeded with my combo order. Figuring it was no big deal to get a free fry with proof of purchase and proof of the issue.
Turns out I was wrong. Received my food and ask for the offer. I was quickly refered to a manager. I thought wow great this will be so easy.
The manager proceeded to ask me for the code. I said I don't have one I just have this email. She said it's on the app. I said that's great. If I could access it we wouldn't be having this conversation. She continued on the "well try logging in blah blah blah scripted non sense."
After about a minute of professional exchanges between us. She just walks away. I'm thinking okay she gets it, she's grabbing me some golden straws from the stock pile. So I wait. Wait some more. Then I realize she's not coming back.
Ive had enough people walk away from me. I didn't need the McDonald's lady to do the same. So now having flash backs from my child hood and having already wasted 10 mins for a free fry I take my losses, grab my order and walk out. Wish I would have simply paid for the Fry's.
But no McDonald's wasn't done. It gets better. I start driving down the road and feel alittle parched. Then I realize that In all the free fry confusion that I never received my drink .
I entered as a professional in uniform. I left a beaten man. Do yourself a favor. Drive around the corner to my girl Wendy's. She will hook you up good.
(Sidenote) skip the scotch bonnet chicken burger. Bigger let down then the costumer server. $10 gets you some thin overcooked chicken with alittle sauce an a salad on top. Just an overpriced jr...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I waited at the speaker in the drive-thru for a good 5 minutes, realized no one is going to answer, no big deal, so we pull up to the window. The window was already open. My boyfriend just says to the nice man standing there “hey we pulled up cos the intercom wasn’t working”. The female manager yells over the male worker standing there (as it seemed like her positions was) and responded with a lot of attitude towards us saying “well your truck is too big for the intercom to detect so we aren’t going to watch the drive-thru all day for you!”, my boyfriend responded “okay but how am I supposed to know that?”. We never had a problem going through an intercom before. The manager can’t expect us to know they can’t see us, and she shouldn’t be giving customers attitude especially when the customer isn’t giving any. We are allowed to explain why we pulled up. It’s basic communication. Explaining what happened doesn’t make us rude nor does it give a reason to revive any type of attitude. So afterwards, instead of taking our order she starts taking the order of the person behind us on the intercom on her headset like we are some kind of inconvenience to her because of the vehicle we drive. She was taking the order extra loud to rub it in our face that she’s not going to help us (as it seemed to us). The male worker was standing there not knowing what to do because of how crazy (in my opinion) she was acting. We just took off because we aren’t dealing with whatever bad day she was deciding to have. The owners should have a talk with this manager and analyze her position. It doesn’t seem fair to the customers or other workers. This was around 11:00am Monday, March 27, 2023. We gave Tim Hortons down the road our business. The intercom worked fine there, and everyone...
Read moreDecent location, staff are quite slow. Trainees should not be working on days that are known to be busy. Certain health and safety procedures such as simply washing their hands when they switch stations (from cashier to making food - *management should remind their staff basic hand washing procedures although ironically managers do the mistake of this as well)
In regards to kitchen staff. I do know the policy that gloves are not to be worn when making food which is understandable as it would be annoying to have to constantly change gloves, but not once have I seen them do their regular hand washing.
If you’re going to this Mcdonald’s I’d say it’s a great place for munchies or a quick snack. Dining in is not a pleasant experience.
Drive thru lacks listening properly to customers. Constantly asking “Is that all” while you’re in the middle of ordering is quite annoying. And it usually results with the order being wrong. If they simply stop saying “Is that all” and have better communication with customers instead of cutting them off repeatedly would easily solve this. Their attitude when they get your order wrong isn’t pleasant either. It’s just plain rude and if a refund is required because they messed up your order it greatly affects the drive thru line. There have even been times where they said I’d have to line up again in the drive thru with at least 8-10 cars…
They need a complete change in the way they operate and definitely a new...
