My husband and I were out on the dsnforth searching for an authentic Greek restaurant. We decided on Megas since all the other restaurants had over an hour wait. We were approached by a few wait staff and within 10 mins were seated. Our waitress seemed nice and busy however the service was ok. The food was good. We ordered gyros and a pork souvlaki dinner. Bread was delivered to our table, not pita bread. I noticed the bread seemed hard and stale. As though it was pre sliced for convenience for the wait staff to serve. When we received our meals I asked about our Greek salads to which the waitress replied "oh you didn't get yet?" I would think she would be the one serving our meals and she would have realized we didn't get our salads as she thought. She returned with our salads and I asked for pita bread. She looked at me like I was asking for too much sighed then replied it's extra to which I replied that's fine. I never received the pita bread to which I would have enjoyed with my pork souvlaki. We asked for our bill which took about 20 mins.. She came with the debit machine and bill and I asked her if she charged us for the pita bread we never got. She then replies "oh you didn't get it?" Not sure who she thought brought us any pita like the salads but she was our server so agsin you would think she would have brought it. Needless to say I was not impressed and disappointed that although my meal was good the service ruined my dinner. I understand a waitress job isn't an easy one but in order to earn tips you should be the one serving your customers not the customer having to request items that come with the meal and for anything that is extra, if a customer replies that's fine then the customer should receive it within a reasonable time. Customer service plays a big part in the restaurant business. The food can be great but if the service isn't it...
Read moreI placed an Uber order in good faith with this restaurant with the times that they are. to be honest it’s a combination of Uber and this restaurants failure. I had had issues trying to order January 9 with other restaurants through Uber and so I called to confirm my order with Megas. A gentleman answered the phone who I immediately from his tone sensed he wasn’t interested in talking to anyone very monotonal or smug disinterested in whether I did business with them or not was my immediate sense. once the order was confirmed I waited the arrival of the food. twice the amount of food arrived that I ordered. this is where Uber comes in because I couldn’t verify what I was charged because their system was down and they did not respond to me. then to make matters worse during their operating hours according to their website I telephoned nine times back to the restaurant only to receive a message stating that I could not leave a voicemail because it was not initiated by them. I mean whoever heard of that it’s a business and it was a Rogers customer phone number which makes me think it was a persons cell phone or private line not a business number why would it not be activated for me to reach them in this kind of situation. needless to say all of those variables strung together not ordering from them again and PS the food wasn’t that great either I received almost an entire loaf of bread when you combine the garlic and regular bread that I received that could not be saved what a waste. thanks for...
Read moreNot sure if i will be returning after my first experience. My gf and I ordered calamari as an appetizer and i must say it was the best calamari i have ever eaten! I was super excited for our mains to come out. It took about 45 minutes between courses which was unbelievable. Our server Nick said it was because of a busy kitchen but there was not many people in the restaurant as it had just opened. We eventually got our mains the beef kabob and lamb shank which were sub par- my gf asked for mid rare beef kabob it was over cooked and dry. My lamb shank didnt meet my expectations what shouldve been fall of the bone if cooked properly it was a fight to eat it especially with a butter knife to cut it off the bone. After our dinner we asked for a takeout container and the bill. The container was provided and no bill. We ended up timing it 20 minutes and still no bill so we got up and said something. After paying out server Nick noticed he actually gave us the wrong bill, i did not review it as i assumed servers are competent enough to be print off the correct tables bill. After another 5 minutes and he came back to have us pay the difference in price. I dont feel like i should have paid the extra 20$. Told him i couldnt believe we waited 20 minutes just to get the wrong bill. Nothing was done, no apology, no thank you have a good day. The only reason i would go back would be for the Calamari but would only...
