When I walk in, I'm immediately taken by the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee; the warm, welcoming atmosphere and captivating Ethiopian décor.

I am always greeted with a genuine smile by the lovely lady who owns the establishment, which makes me feel right at home.

On the occasions when I've been to Mofer, an exquisite style of music has been playing in the background. I've discovered that it's called Ethio-jazz - a unique blend of many different genres, some of which include traditional Ethiopian music, jazz, Afro funk and reggae.

Ok, I've spoken enough about the incredible ambience - here's my opinion on the menu!

Steep & Filter Brew - This is the ultimate way to enjoy coffee. When the process is complete you get a fresh, full-flavoured and strong brew that will tantalize your tastebuds. After one sip, you'll be convinced that Ethiopian coffee is the queen of the bean.

Chai latte and Turmeric latte - Both are aromatic, distinctive, creamy and delightful with the perfect blend of spices.

Pulled vegan mushroom sandwich - Delicious, wholesome and filling. This, as well as many of Mofer's other food options, are prepared by Foodbenders, using fresh and locally-sourced ingredients.

Pecan square - A buttery, rich and...

Mofer coffee is my favourite coffee shop! The space has a similar feel to some of the coffee shops that are on the east end in that it's spacious clean and so nice to work in. I enjoy the beautiful handmade wooden tables and authentic Ethiopian decor, also the staff is beyond amazing. In the winter in can be very cozy with fireplaces and nice cushions. Of course no amazing coffee place is complete without delicious drinks. I personally am a huge fan of the Chai lattes. They strain the tea giving you delicious flavour without leaving in a tea bag and having it too strong. You can sweeten it with Ethiopian honey which is a fantastic alternative to the syrup you get at a lot of places. Much healthier! I'm not a coffee drinker myself but my boyfriend loves their coffee and says his stomach is never upset like at some places. My family is from Nova Scotia so everyone I know got a bag of Mofer coffee for Christmas and now I'm not allowed to come home without it. What more can I say, it's the best coffee place on the west side of Toronto. If you haven't tried...

This is the worst coffee - customer service ever ! I went to the coffee shop and asked for black small coffee. I paid $2 for it and the lady who was helping me she literally put her whole palm/hand all around the coffee lid even the sipping spat/hole. I asked for another lid and the guy, I believe he was her supervisor, he literally said why do you need another lid ? I told him that she touched the hole with her palm, in a very polite manner. And he replied, we put hands on coffee too. And I was like what the hell ! Do you put your hand inside the coffee ? I don’t understand what kind of terrible customer service was that! He took the first lid from me when I was throwing it in the garbage which was on my coffee cup and mixed it with other clean lids. I was shocked how he mixed the used, dirty lid with the clean lids. It is very unhygienic place to go. I wasted my money and time to...

Not a good experience for my 1st visit; especially when compared to their other locations. I went around 2pm, and they were completely out of pastries. I was there for roughly 45 minutes, and it did not appear like more pastries would be made anytime soon. The coffee was good. The place has a nice seating area, with some comfy seats. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been maintained since earlier that morning; no toilet paper. I feel the place could have used another staff that day, as the 1 employee looked drained, and it was likely busy. I was surprised by the high reviews. I may need to go back another day and time to see if it's any different, but likely won't be for a while considering all the other coffee place options on St.Clair.

Very cool decorations and nice atmosphere there. But the coffee and service/attitude needs a bit improvement. Was attracted by its look so dropped by. Was told they only had Ethiopian coffee, which was my favorite. Asked for cortado with cream, but the staff looked a bit hesitant and said had Never done it. Thankfully she didn’t mind doing it for me. While the staff was pouring steamed cream into espresso, I asked to stop as I usually take it light but still she had poured too much so that not much coffee taste remained. I communicated that the cream was too much and wanted another one with less cream, was told the only thing she could do was adding more espresso…. so eventually I got a larger cup of espresso and cream mix…
