Our wedding at The Monarch was everything we dreamed of and more, thanks to the incredible team and the stunning venue itself. From our very first interaction, the communication was seamless and everyone was so friendly and accommodating.

A huge shout-out to the owner, Evan, and bartenders Sean and Kat! They went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. A special thank you to Sean, who graciously put the red curtains back up at the end of the night—we really appreciate that!

We also can't forget Morgan, whose expertise in sound and lighting created the perfect ambiance. The perfectly timed disco ball for our first dance was a magical moment we’ll never forget.

Every time I come back from Ireland, I get a little bummed, because pubs here just aren't the same. No craic. Pretentious. 11 dollars for some soapwater IPA served by a person colder than the beer itself. The Monarch is just what the doctor ordered. Cozy, cold beer, locals engaged in chat at the bar, excellent and prompt/friendly service by the bar staff, great selection of beers - and probably the closest I have ever tasted to high quality Irish pub food (though I believe the chef is an Englishman, I will forgive him that :P). Seriously, the chef here makes UNREAL beef pies with mash and gravy and minted peas. He also so happens to make probably the best burger I have tasted in Toronto. PERFECT BURGER.

Had a great time here for my birthday a few weeks back. I was in communication with one of the owners, Evan, and he was nothing but helpful in offering honest advice as i worked to organize it. He easily could have steered me in a direction that wouldn’t have been so good for my wallet, but his focus was on making sure we made the right decision for us, instead of being focused on how he can make the most profit. Him and the staff did a great job handling and accommodating our crowd of about 30. As a 30 year old who grew up in this city and saw it change so drastically over the last 10-20 years, i cherish places like the Monarch.
