Mr. Wong Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Toronto

Before the restaurant was renovated and renamed from “Super Buffet” to “Scarborough Buffet”, the place was great and at that time, there were a lot of food options. Now in 2019, times have changed and it seems that the place has also changed too, but in a negative way.

The restaurant drastically reduced the food options that would be considered “expensive” available to the point where it feels like I’ve been scammed. 1 ticket per adult for 1 crayfish! I can’t even consider it lobster, the size of the thing was that of a CRAYFISH! What a joke! The crayfish barely had any taste either! The ribs were also taken off the menu, since it’s pretty expensive nowadays, but seeing all these items taken off the menu shattered my memories of Super Buffet.

The service was terrible as well. I finished my glass of water and waiting for a refill offer from one of the “waiters”. They passed by my table about 5 times with nothing in their hands and inspecting my table before they finally offered a refill. For a buffet, it’s disappointing to see the service staff just hover around pretending they’re doing work. Even the plates that are for sushi were not available at one point leading me to figure some alternative ways to find out how I’m going to add some wasabi soy sauce to my sushi.

Overall, the experience was very bad and I cannot recommend this place even if they paid me. The only thing that was great was the fact that they were showing the Raptors game on a projector. What has once been a great restaurant has now become a den of sloths. Even older staff are dissatisfied with the way how the restaurant operates. Until there are changes in management and the menu, I strongly encourage people considering on visiting this restaurant to please find another buffet even if it’s more pricy cause you’ll definitely have a better experience than visiting...

Today was our Anniversary, we tried to order some good food at Scarborough Buffet for celebration. Since we had confirmed with the manager before, if we ordered food over $30, you will get 6 spring rools free. Because we ordered foods through Ubereat, we had to spend $40 more for getting this offer. We followed their policy and ordered foods over $60 this time, but unluckily we didnt get any free spring rolls. We was very unhappy that we didnt get this offer.We tried to contact this restaurant to solve out the missing items issue. But they denied their mistakes and lied to us. They didnt give this free offer anymore, but their flyer still had this offer. That mean they tried to cheat the customer. We always got this free offer . However they knew they made mistakes, they asked us to go to get them or give them to us next time. The manager was very rude and laughing at us. And hanging up our phone calls twice. If we could go to the restaurant, why we ordered food through ubereat. If you didnt have any good customer service, we wouldn't order foods from Scraborough Buffet again. NO NEXT TIME! Now we tried to complaint to Ubereat as soon as possible and didnt want to get cheated anymore. We wanted to get our money back. No matter how you could make a good food, if you dont have a good customer service. For sure, you are running a bad business and losing a lot...

I DO NOT recommend this place! My mom and I came after a driving test because on their doors it said that their milk tea is $3.50. when we came the place, the only lady working there said she has it. So we also asked for a lunch special and when we were about to pay, we noticed that the price was too high. The lady put the bubble tea as the full price and dismissed the fact that they have a poster saying it is $3.50. After we ordered, we sat down at the table (they had a bunch of empty tables) and then the rude lady came to our table and said it is only for takeout (did not warn us at all about it) and took away the forks and spoons that were in front of us and put it at a different table?! Why are the tables set with spoons, forks, knives and plates / napkins, when customers can’t even sit and relax to enjoy their food. The lady was very unpleasant, when the food was done she just brought it to the table and left. As well as while the food was in the process of making, the lady was yelling at the chef.
