Mucho Burrito Fresh Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Toronto

I wrote a really good review for this location before but I've finally decided I should change it. About half a year ago two of my family members and I got really bad food poisoning here from chicken in our burritos. My family was lucky and only had it for a week to a week and a half, whereas I had it for 2 weeks or more. When eating the food my cousin mentioned it tasted very off in some way and when I ate it I kind of felt the same way too. I thought nothing of it though. Immediately after eating it though we all regretted it. Immediate non stop sickness for weeks. Was told by the doctor and a nurse that the food was most likely contaminated with Salmonella or Norovirus, as that was common at that time. from someone handling it. One of the staff seemed sick but I thought nothing of it. Ever since this experience i've been too cautious to go back but I hope one day that can change as most of the time my experiences there were positive.

Very nice helpful staff willing to accommodate all my questions and helpful when i asked about offers. I purchased 2 mucho burritos, one quesidillia and a natcho bowl for $53. Yay dinner is all taken care of. Food looked fresh. Generous servings. Lots and lots of selections can be a bit overwhelming but take your time and read the board. I asked questions and the server was very helpful. Disappointed that I can't do 50/50 split on the meat for a quesadilla the way I can on the burritos. Cost me an extra $3 and had to double up on the meat. I know that is probably a corporate rule but just saying as a suggestion for improvement. Service was fast, place has nice booths and open tables for families or singles to sit in. Place is large, clean and welcoming, wheelchair accessible with handicap spot next to the door. Usually love this place and actually come regularly. Always great, fast service and good portion sizes. Was disappointed on my most recent visit though. All new staff working and it's clear they need more training. They ran out of literally everything - veggies, chicken, cheese, chips. When they put more on, only made enough for two burritos (and both were very understuffed compared to my usual expectations from Mucho) and had to stop to make more again. Took so long to make the last burrito that the first two went cold. Staff also forgot the burrito and drink special despite me reminding them several times and were going to overcharge by about $7. Was able to resolve that one though. Hoping this was a one off and with more experience and training they will go back to how it was and what I expect from them. Other customers were upset too and walked out. Food is always good though and we have microwaves at home...
