Had the pleasure of trying Naija Eatery’s food today. And I do mean pleasure! We were immediately greeted by the owner with smiles and a willingness to explain every dish to us (in case we hadn’t heard of them before), she asked us what spice level we can handle, as well as offer her suggestions according to our tolerances. We went with her suggestions and I got the Jollof rice with chicken and my husband got the Fish Egusi with Fufu… we were BLOWN AWAY! First bites sent us both cross eyed. The Jollof was spiced to perfection (not SPICY, spiced!) and the fish Egusi was my husbands perfect level of spicy, he licked the bowl clean. Even though Naija Eatery is located in a mall, the owner offers full service if you choose to dine in. She will find your seat in the food court and bring your food right to you, making sure you have everything you need, including a bowl of clean water to rinse your fingers in if you indulge yourself in the culture and use your fingers to eat (strongly suggest you do!) We live further east (borderline Scarborough) but we WILL be coming back for more in the near future. It’s 1000% worth it when someone cares about the food they’re feeding you. Thank you Naija Eatery for the lovely experience and introduction to your food and culture! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING...
Read moreWe stumbled on this restaurant on a road trip and ordered amala, jollof rice , ayamase and rice , meat pie, goat meat pepper soup and Tiger Nut from this restaurant. For reference I’m a pretty good cook and have high standards for food. I’ve also tried most Nigerian restaurants. My mom had the amala and loved it. She said the protein added was very big. She rated it a 4/5. Note that her mom owned a restaurant and amala was their specialty so this is a very high rating. Ayamase - The ayamase was also pretty good. I personally wished it was a little less spicy but that’s personal preference and it was still very enjoyable. The jollof rice is the best jollof rice I’ve ever had in my life. My husband and mom echoed how good it is. The meatpie was truly meat pie-no potatoes just meat. It was also moist and tasty. It was worth every dollar. The pepper soup was really good / flavour was a 10/10. I refused to share it. Lastly, giving the customer service 5/5 seems unfair. It was more than 5/5. Ronke’s customer service was so good we left there saying we need to tell everyone about her.
Try this restaurant , you won’t regret it. I’ve made it a mission to navigate our return trip in that direction just so I can...
Read moreLet me give it to you straight this Nigerian eatery called Naija Eatery is great I’m telling you the service caters to your every need and the food is cooked beautifully I ordered Eba with Efo Riro which was blessed because it was so filling, as the portions were big for both the spinach stew and the Eba (Gari) with a total of $18.99 after tax, believe me when I tell you it’s worth every penny. I highly recommend that dish, I also ate the poundo yam and ogbono from there sometime and it was amazing as well the poundo yam was so soft and smooth, I simply loved it. And let me remind you I’m Ghanaian, and wanted to venture into the Nigerian dishes too, so I tried and want more 😁 i have ventured to other Naija eateries and there a bit pricy but this one is great, it’s new and the food is great, what else can you ask for. I can say that I’m satisfied with this eatery and will surely...
