2555 Victoria Park Ave, Scarborough, ON M1T 1A3 Date Visited : Friday April 27th 2018 Wife and I happen to be craving noodles after work. I remember coming to this resto years ago. I was hoping that the quality of the food hasn't changed. Glad I was right, food is still good. Portion size seems to have improved over the years in my absence. We ordered the Pad Thai noodles and the Seafood Egg Meon Shrimp. Service : relatively friendly staff. Seems that this is the first chinese resto and a noodle oriented place at that we have dined at, and I didn't see any chopsticks. Food : 4/5 Pad thai, I'm not an expert on Pad thai, but we found the dish to be enjoyable. Tho the fresh ground peanuts were a tad on the salty side, nice chewy noodles and the dish was served hot. As for the Egg Meon Shrimp, the dish wasn't as hot (maybe it was cooked first) the tastes of seafood were really really subtle in this dish. The only items providing flavor for me, was the fish cake and the shrimps. Way too much sauce and since it was using ho fun noodles (flat rice noodles), they don't exactly soak up sauce very well. Beverages : Water situation : looks like they only offer tap water, bottled Dasani water is $1.54 a bottle. Bottled drinks are $2 bux each + tax. Soft drinks in can are $1.37. If your on a budget, I'd recommend bringing your own drinks, or stop at the Subway Sandwiches 2 doors to the left and refill a reusable bottle with cold water, I bought 3 cookies and refilled our 2 bottles with cold ice water Method of payment : Cash & Debit, not sure on credit cards Repeat visit : yes, there are few more dishes we are interested to taste. Sadly have to avoid the dishes with beef, due to beef being a gout trigger for me. Update : May 10, 2018 Visited on May 9th, and the quality dropped and so did the portion size for what we ordered. This time we ordered the Hong Kong noodles and a special Sweet and Sour Pork chops w/steamed rice. Both dishes we requested without any bell peppers. They granted the request, but the portion size was less than our previous visit. The Hong Kong noodles were soooo soggy. 1/5 for the Hong Kong noodles on this visit. I'd give 3/5 for the Sweet and Sour pork chops w/rice. There are still more noodle dishes we are interested in trying. Just skipping the ones with beef, due to beef being a gout trigger for me.

Ignore the other reviewer, I have been a loyal customer at Noodle Delight for over 20 Years! The secret with ANY asian restaurant is to know what to order, because each place has it's specialties and if you order the wrong thing you come away with the wrong impression. That's why it's good to do a little research before you go and then you have a clue. Noodle Delight is basically all the classic Noodle and rice dishes from various regions of China and Southeast Asia that have been made less scary for unfamiliar folks, by giving them clever names and making them easy to order. This is to authentic Chinese food what fast food is to American cuisine. Best items include the 'Kobe' which is their version of "beef ho fun" or "gon chau ngau ho" 乾炒牛河 which is tender beef seared in a dry wok with soy sauce, onion, bean sprouts and flat rice noodles - very tasty! If you prefer curry flavour the 'Malay' has the same dry curry flavour as Singapore Noodles, but with wide, flat rice noodles instead of skinny vermicelli noodles. Both are great. Similar to Cantonese Chow Mein, but with their own twist is the signature 'Noodle Delight', made with crisp fried noodles and the sauced meat and veggies overtop. Be forewarned that what they call Pad Thai is NOT what you are used to, but it is a well-liked noodle dish, if not traditional. Other popular dishes that I see a significant number of people ordering include the Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Kwung Tung, but I tend to stick to the Kobe and Szechuan Chicken Rice or Malay Noodles :). All the dishes have the desired 'wok hei' which is translated as breath of the wok, and refers to that smoky, properly seared flavor that noodle and meat dishes get when they are cooked quickly over high heat in a carbon steel wok. Most of the dishes are named after cities where they originated, and all of the dishes have photographs and detailed descriptions in the big binder if you want to look through and choose, purposely made safe and easy to order something that you're going to enjoy. I recommend you go and give it a shot, I'm sure you can find a dish or two that would become your favorite, too.

I remember coming to Noodle Delight decades ago, well before the plaza was redeveloped. The idea is still the same after all this time - lots of noodles for a price that you will be hard pressed to find anywhere else. I had the Shanghai noodle combo special, $12 tax in. The noodles came with a sprinkling of beef and a fair amount of shrimp. I spooned in a little chili oil to kick it up a bit. The combo included soup, spring roll and a cup of pop. It is not the finest Shanghai noodle that I have ever had but that would be unrealistic for the price. The restaurant is clean, the man in charge at the cash was efficient and not unpleasant and made sure everything was done exactly as it should be. I'm sure that they will be around for many more years providing good old school value.

I was a regular customer to this restaurant called "Noodle Delight" a few years ago before COVID 19 hit. I would recommend it to my friends. However my opinion of this restaurant have changed drastically. On Sunday August 4th, 2024. I bought Yang Chow Fried Rice take out from this restaurant. The portion was big, the service was quick. My son ate half box of the fried rice, two hours later he vomited and vomited. Just to prove that it was not caused by the Fried Rice, I tried a few spoons, immediately after tasting it, I knew the fried rice tasted weird and awful, like ammonia. I immediately threw the fried rice to garbage. My son kept vomiting, we took him to NYGH Emergency. While accompanying my son in the ER room. I suddenly felt nausea too, and I vomited in the ER room(and this happened about two hours after I sampled a few spoon of the fried rice). Doctor did blood tests, ultrasound, and urine samples. Doctor confirmed it is food poisoning for both my son and me. I don't know what happened to this restaurant that I used to love. Have the management or ownership change? Why there is no quality / hygiene check ? Perhaps the rice it cooked/served was spoiled rice that was not kept properly? Please DO NOT order anything with rice from this restaurant!!! I am posting this hoping its owner/management will take a serious check and review its food safety protocol. Do not compromise big portion, quick service with food safety! Your...
