The Queens Head Pub (Scarborough) — Restaurant in Toronto

(Previous review June 13, 2019) *Amazing atmosphere and excellent service with exceptional food and fair prices. Just had an unfortunate experience at this establishment, I was served wings that were almost burned on the exterior and never had these wings served this way to say but I am disappointed today...

(AUGUST 23,2020) *Just an additional review, its been awhile since I have returned due to the covid19 situation, nonetheless I returned anticipating a positive experience, unfortunately not what I thought..Regardless of the past, tonight's experience was extremely difficult to express. The staff were professional and as usual excellent. The food wasn't, as the once again order of "Sweet Thai Chili Wings" were overcooked! Even confirmed by there own waiting staff. When managment heard of my genuine concern, the response was to say the least, inadequate.

Well it happened before when we ordered the same item, but they eventually removed it from our bill. Worst part is that rather than accepting the customers genuine complaint that the order of wings were definitely OVERCOOKED! I felt because the same complaint was made in 2019, it was a negative to myself and others who actually agreed with my comments about the order in which the food was cooked...We literally had 1 wing each (3)

Its amazing how managment can be so casual in such a dire time (COVID19) and react so comfortable to a once regular patron.

To allow them to feel uncomfortable when making an honest complaint about an item from the menu..

Overall I don't think that the management takes there customers seriously, especially when a similar instance reoccurs, to allow there customers to feel labeled and profiled because of it...

That's exactly how I felt along with my business partners....Let alone what there experience was for there firsthand dining experience.

Nonetheless I unfortunately will not be returning to "The Queens Head Pub" anytime soon. Hopefully the business colleagues that were with me will have there own decisions to make on social media or within there circle of friends......................................

Chose this place for Team Canada's Copa America semifinal game (July 9, 2024) as it's been a nice place to watch sports in the past, but staff was completely overwhelmed that evening.

We saw our waiter maybe twice in our first 90 minutes of sitting, despite being ready to order more food/drinks. If it was urgent, we could have waved them down, but to not even check on us was unacceptable. Just completely inattentive for long periods of time, very frustrating.

When we finally did get a waiter's attention, we made a drink request that was apparently forgotten because nothing arrived after about 15-20 minutes. Then a person we assume to be the manager showed up and did their best to handle the situation, but we had to make our drink order AGAIN and wait another 10-15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. And one of the drink orders was wrong. Yikes!

We were also told they didn't expect the place to be so busy, but you're a sports bar! Expect to be busy! Not a reasonable excuse under any circumstances. That's just leaving money on the table because my group was ready to order way more drinks than they eventually ended up having.

None of the food was comped to make up for the lack of service, which is disappointing and, in my experience, pretty standard when you know you've let customers down.

Just to end on a positive note, great variety of pub fare and the cooking is very solid, so no complaints on that end.

Everyone has an off night, so I hope the staff learn from this experience, though we won't be going to this...

Always delicious! Queen's Head always does its food amazingly! The New York Striploin with mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy and fresh vegetables is amazing and one of the best in the GTA. The steak is very tender and buttery. The incredible quality cannot compare to anywhere else. Also the portions are so large in an amazing way. This is one of the last places in GTA that give extra and large portions and high quality food too all with a great price. Whenever I order certain menu items I get a generous takeout box salad on the side - which is so filling :) Whoever owns this location really puts passion and care into making the food. I really feel like portion size should be appreciated more since there are few places in this city that give generous portions anymore since the prices of food are going up, but this place serves it like the good ol' days and stays true to the old-fashioned pub style which is lost in many modern restaurants. Whoever decided to keep the traditionalism, made an amazing decision since it stands the test to all the other super-modern restaurants popping up that are quite boring and all the same. This restaurant retains its' classic style!!! The onion rings and chipotle dip is also really well done on the side of the steak sandwich. I also love that you can order butter chicken or other Ethnic style dishes than pub food, and they are also very yummy.
