I normally don’t write reviews but I feel the need to for this one. Yesterday my friends and I had a reservation here for 3:00pm that was made 2 days prior. Mind you they had called to confirm this reservation multiple times. We arrived 15 minutes early and as soon as we came in we were informed that another party who had a reservation at 1:00pm and had just arrived were seated at our table. At no point in time when we called over the phone to reserve our table were we informed that the reservation would be based on availability. Respectfully what is the point of making a reservation if you don’t plan to follow its procedures. Regardless we were seated elsewhere, however the servers did not once come in to check on us or try to better accommodate us for the inconvenience. At the end of our meal they attempted to add an 18% gratuity charge for our large party which we disputed. I am a tipper, especially for dine in service, but my party and I were not happy with our service and very disappointed with the way the situation was handled over all so we requested them to remove the charge. At the end of the day a tip is earned it’s not a given.

Rather than trying to find ways to ensure your customers are happy, you accuse us of writing bad reviews that misrepresent the situation. We are simply expressing our feelings about our experience so don’t try to gaslight us.

The lack of accountability from this establishment speaks volumes. You guys said you wouldn’t host us again but even if you asked me to I would never come back here based on how we...

Delectable food and amazing flavour! Poor service in clarifying and wording. When we got the bill, I realized we got charged for condiments. It was printed in Turkish hence I asked for translation. She said it was for appetizers. I was confused because I did not order any appetizers for that amount. She kept mentioned do you remember you got appetizers and it came with two appetizers, she kept mentioning appetizers and appetizers non stop. Her use of words are very wrong choice and vague. I really kept thinking there was actual food that’s yet to come. Overtime, I realized she meant sauce/condiments and charged extra for. Had it been extra charge., I would have ordered less. The waiter did not give any clarification or did not mention any surcharge for these condiments. We initially got the condiments in first place hence I thought we can ask for “refill”. Just to be clear, I know for additional food, there is a surcharge. I’m aware of it and I’m not dumb. But I didn’t expect for the condiments/sauce. Honestly, I would like if the server threw more clarity on this. We also asked for one more takeout boxes and never gave it. Yet, I see them giggling and cleaning forks by the counter. We just left with poor impression. Besides the food, I mean, I’m seeing at the other reviews about the service, I’m not suprised. I don’t want a feedback saying “ we will do our experience better” OR “come again, we will give another chance.” Instead I would like appropriate and clear training towards the employees especially knowing how to...

A Wonderful Family Dinner at Konak Turkish Cuisine!

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of dining as a family at Konak Restaurant, located at 2501 Victoria Park Ave, Scarborough, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We made a reservation in advance, and it was immediately clear why—this place is incredibly popular and in high demand. Despite the busy evening, the service was impressively fast and efficient.

To start, we were served a mezze platter that was simply outstanding, both in presentation and taste. For our main courses, we ordered Mixed Pide, Iskender, Sultan Kebab, and Beyti. Every dish was cooked to perfection, with the flavors and spices beautifully balanced. The tenderness of the meats and the freshness of the ingredients stood out. We were especially impressed that all of our dishes were served at the same time, a testament to the excellent coordination of the service team.

For dessert, we tried the Konak Special Tahini, which was the perfect finale to our meal. Its unique flavor and light texture make it a must-try!

A special thank you to Rana, who provided attentive and friendly service throughout the evening, and to Ibrahim, the restaurant manager, for his warm hospitality. Their efforts made our visit even more memorable.

With its elegant ambiance, delicious food, and exceptional service, Konak Turkish Cuisine truly deserves 5 stars. If you're looking for a wonderful dining experience, especially for a family gathering, I highly...

Our experience at Konak started off a couple of weeks earlier when I met Cagri, the restaurant manager. We were looking for a wonderful restaurant experience for my dad on Father’s Day and Konak didn’t disappoint. Cagri took the time to sit down with me over tea and we hashed out the plan for a party of 16. When we arrived on Father’s Day there was a slight seating mix up however it was quickly attended to and the luncheon then began. We ordered two 4 people platters and mixed appetizers with a few soups and salads which were delicious and fresh. The meat platters are played out on a magnificent heated tray that looks fit for royalty. We are new to the Turkish cuisine so this might be a typical presentation. After our appetizers and main meal we ordered the Tre Leche dessert both raspberry or caramel. I prefer the caramel but this is your own personal preference. We paired this with a Rish Turkish coffee. Our servers we attentive and pleasant and her name was Elif( apologies for spelling). Thank you for a memorable and pleasant dining experience my whole family and especially my father were very pleased and satisfied.

I recently visited Konak Turkish Restaurant and overall had a very pleasant experience. The food was fresh, well-presented, and the service was welcoming. We started with lentil soup and chicken soup, both of which were flavorful, hearty, and felt truly homemade. The soups were a great start to the meal and set the tone for authentic Turkish comfort food. For the main course, we ordered the sea bass. While it was served nicely, I personally found it a little dry and on the bland side—it could have used more seasoning or marinade to bring out the flavors. This was the only dish that didn’t quite meet the same high standard as the rest. To finish off, we had Trileçe (milk cake), which was the star of the evening—light, moist, and deliciously sweet without being overpowering. The restaurant itself has a warm, inviting ambiance with plenty of space, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy a meal. Overall, I’d say Konak does a great job with authentic Turkish flavors, and aside from the sea bass, everything else was excellent. I would definitely return to try more of their menu. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)
