I have been looking forward to this bakery opening as I drive by it everyday. Sadly I was underwhelmed with my first visit. Starting with the atmosphere: it was dark and the shelves were pretty bare (at 11:30AM); there were wrong signs on several items; there was no seating for customers to enjoy their treats; it didn't smell like a bakery upon walking in which made me wonder if product was brought in from somewhere; there was no coffee (however they told us that would start on Monday). As for what we purchased: we had the dark chocolate donut and almond roll. You could tell both were fresh. We enjoyed that neither were too sweet. Unfortunately the donut was pretty flavourless (but redeemed itself in texture). The almond roll was fantastic with a danish-like exterior and vanilla-almond custard interior. I acknowledge that they have only just opened but was expecting more. I'll visit again in a couple of months once they've had some time to iron out the kinks/establish themselves a bit more. There is definitely potential ❤️

There’s a new German bakery in town, and it’s only been open for a few days! They’re still settling in, but when I arrived after 5 PM, fresh pastries were still coming out of the oven. Their baked goods are made from frozen dough shipped directly from Germany, ensuring authenticity, and they take pride in using high-quality ingredients- no preservatives, artificial enhancers, or hydrogenated fats. I tried the Vanilla Cream Pastry with Almond and the Raspberry Quark Basket- both were warm, incredibly flavorful, and not too sweet. The pastry was light, flaky, and buttery, making for a delightful treat. I’ll definitely be back to try more!

Absolutely love Oma’s German Bakery! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with the warm, comforting aroma of fresh-baked bread and pastries. You can tell everything is made with love and traditional recipes. The staff is always friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. Whether you’re grabbing a quick snack or picking up treats for a special occasion, Oma’s never disappoints. A true hidden gem. They also have a really cute display with samples for kids!

I didn't expect to find my new favourite Donut in the city. I find most donuts are too sweet or heavy. This is a real bakers donut - the dough is a great balance of doughy + fluffy. The dark chocolate is the right sweetness. (sprinkle salt I and might be in bigger trouble). The Pretzel Croissants and Spelt Croissant topped my expectations. 'pretzeled' items can sometimes be a bit denser, but this was just right. According to wall signage most of the items seem to have NO enhancers/preservatives/hydrogenated or palm oils, etc.

Looking forward to trying more items. Glad this finally opened up and that it's good - especially glad it's actually good. 😅

It's still new, might even be in soft opening technically, so I'm giving grace on a few details - proper signage is needed on all the displays. I'd recommend putting the ingredients underneath the label.

The place could use some updating in the lighting department. Not sure what other stores do, but I know it just felt lacking for...
