Worth it ! My first time trying Musoshin Ramen and it was absolutely worth it, great portion for a ramen making it filling, yet not stuffing you to the brim, fantastic for a nice warm meal on a chilly day. We ordered: > Karage (add on) : added Karage to our orders of Ramen, and we absolutely loved it. 5/5 The pieces of chicken were soft, with a good portion of breading to meat, as it was in the ramen, it was a little soaked but still had a nice crunch. Would recommend ordering it on the side if you prefer more of the crunch. > Ajimata Musoshin Ramen : this is a wonderfullly umami pork and veg broth, that soothes your soul on a chilly afternoon. I would rate this a 5/5 The Ramen comes with bamboo shoots, which albeit a small detail is soft, and possibly left in the broth letting it soak up the flavour rather than adding it towards the end. Very much appreciated. The Chashu, the all famous pork belly, which was slightly charred (as it should be!), giving it that smokey flavour while also having that fatty piece of meat effectively melt in your mouth And the ever so simple yet tough to perfect, seasoned eggs, generally seasoned with soy and mirin, the eggs at Musoshin were definitely quite tasty with the yolk not too runny, yet seemingly "creamy" enough for it to ooze out when dunked into the broth and biten into. The noodles, can't say much, besides the fact that it was cooked well, and soft but chewy, and perfect for a slurp!, can't say that it was a standout, as the broth and everything else felt more important in the moment. >Musoshin Ramen Red : ordered this for an extra bit of spice (level 5) to the mix and bit of a contrast from the fatty pork with beef tenderloin I would rate this at a 4/5 for me. The Ramen is a similar pork and veg broth, but comes with wonderfully soft pieces off beef tenderloin, that essentially disappear with minimal chew and maximum flavour. A little bit of spice, I ordered it at a level 5 (can choose between level 1-10) not too spicy, mild in flavour, but perfect for a little bit of heat, if you're accustomed to having spicy food. The Okra, not a fan of okra by any means, but leaving the Okra in broth to let the flavours mingle adds a mild addition to the flavour.

The staff, service and food was pretty good from Musoshin Ramen! Their unique combination of broth and noodles plus the desserts makes for a really lovely place to eat at during lunch or dinner. They have a lovely outdoor seating with 4-pair table seating with also 4 booths to eat inside. For our meal, we've had their, Musoshin Ramen (with egg), Musoshin Ramen Red (Level 1 spice and was just the right amount) and Kyoto White Miso Vegan Ramen (which had a nice earthy broth taste). We also ordered the Karaage and Takoyaki which was pretty good as well, nothing was burnt on our session. Also to top it off, we had to order Aoi's mom's famous Yogurt Cheesecake with Strawberry Jam and Strawberry Mochi. The cheesecake was so light, slight yogurt sour but paired so well with the Strawberry Jam. The Strawberry Mochi was for the price of 1 but the whole strawberry, red bean filling wrapped with a glutinous rice flour was just the right harmony of ingredients. Definitely, desserts were a great choice to wrap up the meal! They have a central payment/ordering system via the window as well which makes it very easy to order to-go or at the location. I appreciate their note about no-tips policy so that their menu is slightly higher to give a better wage for employees. Note: This is their first overseas venture in Toronto with two locations in Kyoto and one location in Osaka. It is a collaboration of the co-owners from the Musoshin Ramen and Hollyhock Japanese Sweets back in Japan. Their menu has a lot of diversity from a few ramen, desserts, tea and side dish options. They are best known for their light but rich ramen broths which is consistent to the usual thin or thick broth bases from Tokyo, Hakata and Sapporo broths found in ramen restaurants in Toronto and Japan. Additionally, their ramen noodles are the thin straight noodles and not the thicker wavy noodles that some customers may not be used.

Helloooo one of my new favourite ramen places! I was actually planning to go to this Thai place down the street, but it was very cold, and I was very hungry, and, like a light in darkness, this place glowed for some reason. It wasn’t even on the main street, but I somehow just felt called to go inside. It’s a very small store, not many people can fit inside, and they have a few seats outdoors as well. So I could see that when it’s really busy, you’d have to wait a long time. The two times I went here, I was lucky enough to get a seat immediately. I see the prices are pretty fair here, although I wish they were lower. They do have an ability to customize your Ramen, which is pretty cool. And they also have a lot of all the Japanese items, including desserts, appetizers, and other dishes. Again, if the Ramen were cheaper, I’d love to order an appetizer or such with it, but instead, I just end up getting extra noodles for two dollars. And I devour that ramen with extra noodles, I’m telling you. I get their best seller, and use a little bit of togarashi on the side when I want to make it more spicy. The extra noodles perfectly fill my stomach, I feel very very warm when I walk outside. They don’t have much of a variety on their menu, so check ahead if you’re a picky person. The quality of the noodles are so so good, and the broth isn’t very heavy. Which I love so much. It’s not thin like a soup, it’s perfect for Ramen. The eggs are cooked to perfection, and the noodles absorb just the right amount of broth needed. I will 100% be back here, I’ll see you soon! :-)
