A young lad wearing a sports cap and his lady companion sat down next to the table I was sitting at. The apparently owner of the place came up to him and told him to remove his hat if he wanted to get served. In my opinion the restaurant is not that fancy to require a dress code specially when the waitresses were wearing sombreros as part of the uniform. Now the ironic thing about all this scenario is that the owner wore a untucked dirty white dress shirt, messy appearance for a so " upscale restaurant ". The waitress try taking our plates and drinks away even though we weren't finished....... and what food establishment doesn't have cool soft drinks at all times?. Well, this place brings hot Coca-Cola cans to the table and didn't bother to notify us until they were already open at our table. To make matters worse they killed one of my favorite Peruvian dishes, the papa a la guancaina I ordered was not properly cooked, little to no sauce on it and the sauce didn't had that distinctive spicy flavor I like in this dish. Didn't feel comfortable eating at this place. There's something extremely negative about the environment in that place and well the fact that it was the worse Papa a la guancaina I ever had. As an for the young lad and his companion, the situation was not handle properly and I feel bad for the embarrassment the 2 were exposed to, specially when you are a paying customer. The lad remove his hat and waited to be served but after 10 minutes him and his companion got up and walked out the door. Horrible customer service. Will not recommend this place to anyone I know and I'll never go back to this place again. Really...
Read moreNEVER COMING BACK!!! SERVICE IT’S THE WORST. I decided to go to this place with a friend ( he is from Switzerland) and we were very excited to going to this place because He visited peru long time ago and he wanted to try pisco sour again. when we arrived a guy, an old man with gray hair, greeted us at the door with a super rude attitude,I didn’t want to see it at that moment but when we ordered we only wanted to order just pisco sour because we already have eaten before, in spite of that we were open to probably order food later but at that moment we only wanted to order pisco sour and this guy with this haughty and rude attitude forced us to order food in order to stay, I was so ashamed for my friend and feel very uncomfortable because we wanted to spend a good time together that I didn’t want to make a big deal of it and try to understand that this guy (the server) was just only following rules, so we ordered food and AGAIN it wasn’t enough for him and he was forcing us to order more food, he said that if we were not ordering an entree plus main dishes we could go to another place. He was so rude, so inconsiderate that I’m never coming back to that place again and also I would tell all the people that I know to not go as well. That is not the way you should behave with your clients or people you are suppose to serve, specially if we were very nice and tried to understand and have the best attitude despite the treatment we had received. A moment that must have been pleasant turned stressful and...
Read moreWe were excited to try this after walking around Salsa Fest. We arrived just before 9pm and the place is packed but they’re able to accommodate us. The menu is nothing special but typical menu choices when you go to a peruvian restaurant. The waitress took our order but came back few minutes after, asking me again which beer I ordered lol; I did not notice her writing our orders to begin with.
They offered us bread in a basket with 3 dippings as a starter. The table has a vase with real chrysanthemum but some small insects flying around the vase that we have to put in on the side.
30 minuted later no one checked in on us and 45 minutes later, we asked the guy how long our food will be served and he said “few more minutes” as they were busy but he will check the kitchen if they’re preparing it or not. A minute or two later, he said they food is not being prepared yet and we just lost it and left. He said no need to worry to pay for the bottle of beer.
The service in this restaurant is way below the Toronto standards, we waited almost an hour for our food only for them to realize they did not get our order. If I can give the service 0 star, I will definitely would!!! Cannot really comment about the food because we only tried the bread. I suggest not to try this restaurant if they are “busy” because your order will be...
