I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Peggy's Caribbean Cuisine! Located at 402 Old Kingston Rd in Scarborough, this gem of a restaurant offers a true taste of the Caribbean right here in Toronto.

The moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the friendly staff and the vibrant, cozy atmosphere. The decor is charming, with colorful artwork and a warm, inviting vibe that sets the perfect tone for a delightful dining experience.

The menu is packed with a variety of authentic Caribbean dishes, and everything I tried was bursting with flavor. I started with the jerk chicken, which was perfectly spiced and incredibly tender. The sides of rice and peas, and plantains complemented the meal beautifully. Each bite was a delightful blend of spices and textures, truly capturing the essence of Caribbean cuisine.

I also sampled the curry goat, which was cooked to perfection, with tender meat and a rich, savory sauce that had just the right amount of heat. The portions were generous, and every dish was presented beautifully.

So I went here based on reviews since I was in the area....I went on a wed or friday cant rmeber it was on a day they open at noon went there for noon was warmly greeted. Made my order amd paid and was told the jerk chicken just finished cooking then sje came bk and told me it wouldn't be ready for another 20 mins and then sje went to check it again and then she came bk out and told us to come bk at 5 mins to 1 pm...so I ended up waiting like waiting up to 50 mins for something that shldve been ready at noon. She did give me the option to order something else as I had already paid for the food prior to her saying that it wasn't gonna be ready I declined I was ordering for my partner and he wanted the jerk. Anyways when I received the food I was kind of shocked at how little portion I was given considering the wait time she could've gave me a little extra. Let’s start with OMGGGGGG! So I discovered this gem yesterday on search for a meal I could eat and enjoy as a Vegan/Vegetarian. I walked in and was greeted by a beautiful Queen. (Unlike most Jamaican restaurants! Sadly it’s a thing). I was hesitant to ask for veggie because most Jamaican restaurants only have steamed cabbage and carrots but when I asked she said we have steamed veg but we have broccoli, cauliflower, okra, carrots, pumpkin, and mixed it with callaloo, green banana and plantains on the side.
