Let's tackle this review systemically

Food We got 2 drinks the house-made lemonade and turkish coffee.

Lemonade, my personal preference, did not appeal. I think others could enjoy this taste, but not me. Looks wise, I didn't like the presentation, was expecting some mint leaves and a slice of citrus like the picture, but neither was given despite the $7 price tag.

Turkish coffee, tasted like the coffee grinds were still in there. Presentation was nice, but the execution was poor. Was expecting a smooth, strong, clean Turkish taste, but ended up chewing on coffee grinds...

_Service _ When we went to the counter the cashier was chatting with a friend. She made us (only 2 in line at the time) wait until her conversation naturally ended. It's ok we get it, people have friends these things happen from time to time, but still not the best first impression. Only after the friend left were we given menus to make an order on the spot.

We initially asked to order the hibiscus watermelon drink. The prompt reply was "We don't have that.", in a very direct and unapologetic way. This response could've been done better, either with a "Sorry, we don't have that anymore" or a "That's not available right now".

_Atmosphere _ It's Kensington-Market. Either you love it or you don't. I like it, it's really nice and different from the rest of Toronto.

This place, the ran-down, poorly maintained, crammed and cozy...

I recently had one of the best breakfast experiences at Pera Cafe. From the moment we arrived, the welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff made a great impression. The outdoor seating area is a gem, offering a relaxing ambiance perfect for a morning meal.

We sampled a variety of items from the menu, and not a single dish disappointed. Our beverages included a rich Mocha, traditional Turkish tea, and a perfectly crafted cappuccino, each providing a unique and satisfying taste. The food was equally impressive. The Shakshuka platter was flavorful and hearty, while the Avocado toast platter was fresh and beautifully presented. The almond butter toast offered a delightful combination of textures and flavors, and the cheesecakes were simply divine, making for a perfect ending to our meal.

Every aspect of our visit to Pera Cafe exceeded our expectations. The quality of the food and drinks, coupled with the exceptional service and charming setting, has undoubtedly made this one of our favorite places. Whether you’re looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a coffee or a full breakfast, Pera Cafe is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be returning to savor more of their...

I previously read a review on this place about someone's UberEATS experience and their reply was that the review was not appropriate because it should've been left on UberEATS and not Google. Well my experience was on Ritual.

They accepted my order and did not even try to contact me to say that they didn't have one of the items I ordered. Their excuse was that they didn't have their iPad at the time, but again... They confirmed my order and when the time came for me to pick it up, they hadn't even made my coffee! Ritual is an app for pickup so I don't have to wait in-store but I had to waste my time going there to find out "they couldn't complete my order". Then they tell me to just put that my pickup was fine on the app and they would give me a refund in cash, but that's not how online apps work, that's just avoiding the bad rating.

I feel like online experiences should also be on Google maps because I personally check the reviews before I order either on UberEATS or ritual. I'm reviewing your shop's service, not the...

There's no eggs-cuse to miss brunch 🍳 📍@peracafetoronto - 62 Nassau St, Toronto Hidden inside Kensington Market is Pera Cafe, it’s a cute little spot that serves up brunch staples! I went with a couple friends and it was a vibe. I got their egg croissant and it was pillowy, the eggs were cooked nicely, potato’s I wish were crispy 🥲. My friends all liked their dishes definitely a spot to visit! 🥐 Egg Croissant Platter - $18.99 🥑 Avocado Toast Platter - $16.99 🍞 Smoked Salmon Toast - $18.99 #kensingtonmarketcafe #peracafe #hiddengemtoronto #torontofoodie #Torontoeats #eggcroissant #avocadotoast #smokedsalmontoast #peoplewatching #torontocafe #brunch

A lovely cafe in Kensington market. I swear half my pay check goes to these guys. Don’t go to those chains and companies with faceless CEOs. The Owners and staff here are super friendly and I love supporting small businesses and being able to see the faces of the people who I’m gladly giving my money to. Whether I’m looking to get my caffeine fix, or a box of macarons for a gift, this place always outdoes itself. Not to mention their Turkish brunch options are to die for ! They’re a staple in the Kensington and Turkish community, doing initiatives like partnering with other businesses to fundraise for the earthquake in Turkey that happened earlier this year. Been a regular for almost a year and always treated with friendly, fast service each time. There’s a reason why they have many many regulars like myself always coming back here. These people will always be getting mine and my friends business!
