I came here for the AYCE pizza special and would not recommend it. Both the service and food quality were terrible.

Here’s a recap of my experience from beginning to end:

1.We arrived at 12:48 PM and were told they had already stopped serving chicken wings, which seemed strange since the restaurant opened at 12:00 PM. As we ate, we noticed other tables being served wings. We asked a neighboring table—who sat down as we were finishing up—and they confirmed they were allowed to order wings. When we brought this up to the manager, she apologized and claimed they were busy and had “forgotten” to inform us when they restocked. While she did reduce our meal prices as compensation, the experience left a bad impression.

For our group of six, they provided just one small side dish (corn, radish, and pickled cucumber). Thinking it was a mistake, we asked for more, but they told us refills were only available after we finished the first portion. We quickly finished it so the other half of our group could try, but when we requested a refill, they said only the radish could be refilled. This made no sense—there were only three pieces of cucumber to begin with!

The spaghetti was awful—worst than 99-cent spaghetti from CNE. To make matters worse, it was served cold. While they reheated it for us, the overall quality didn’t improve.

Although I usually love cheese, the amount on their pizza was excessive and completely overwhelmed the dish.

Portion sizes were inconsistent. The first time we ordered a dish, the portions were small, so we reordered. However, the second portion was significantly larger than the first.

The manager, who served us, treated our table noticeably worse than the others around us. When we brought up the issue with the chicken wings, her attitude changed entirely, but by then, the damage was done.

Overall, this was a disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t return—even at a...

This is my first time trying Pizza Maru, which is a Korean style pizza place and trying this different type of fusion for Pizza was very eye-opening as well because it showed how Pizza can be so sweet, salty with different combinations that you’ve never thought about before.

Overall the place itself is located very nicely parking can be a bit of a problem because of the location, but it is very accessible. Moving onto the interior. There was a very nice type of ambiance where it does. Give a vibe of. Yes we are in a Korean style pizza place. Service was relatively fast and overall accommodating. I would hopefully expect that coming for the first time some of the servers would explain what type of pizza would be better, or just give recommendations in general to somebody who has never been to a place like that.

Now going to the actual pizza it was made very well and the ingredients being used were also a very good combination that led to it overall good eating experience. They also provided sides that enhance the flavour of the pizza creating a more authentic Korean style experience which is why I would get this place the rating I am giving it. The pricing is a little bit high but overall, if you do get one pizza, it does fill up 2 to 3 people so based on that it would be a very good range of pricing.

overall, I will be coming back here to try their vast menu that they have which when you do go to the place and you do see when you want to order you will see the amount of options that they have and they did take me a good 10 minutes to find an option that looked like I would enjoy. That is the only downfall is that there are a lot of options but it can be...

My friend and I decided to stop by for dinner to try their AYCE. Our server explained their rules for the AYCE service.

It’s crazy to me they charge an additional $3 per item if you’re unable to finish it. This is understandable if a large amount of food was ordered and was tossed out. But they charge $3 no matter what. For example, there was a bit of cheese and extra sauce left in the container from the spaghetti because we couldn’t scrape it off and we were charged despite finishing all the pasta noodles.

AYCE service has a maximum of 2 hours. My friend asked if they could make an exception to the 2 hour seating limit if the restaurant wasn’t busy and our server said no. We were informed our time started as soon as our order was placed to which they don’t take into consideration cooking time. Service is also lacking.

The food overall was alright. I found the pizza to be unique and extremely sweet. The dough was a bit too heavy but I prefer a thinner and crispy crust.

The fried chicken was okay. Just like any other Korean Fried Chicken, pieces were very crispy and didn’t feel too oily. However, the chicken did taste like they fried it in old oil. The sauce was different and covered the old oil taste.

Overall, I wouldn’t come back for their AYCE service but would try again if I were craving for pizza and there was absolutely nothing around the area.

Edited to add: I did feel a bit sick afterwards on the day of. Then had mild symptoms of food poisoning...

The restaurant was a nice surprise. My daughter and I got lucky. It was the first Friday where they extended the ayce buffet. 1st - ambiance is nice. A little small but the wood finishing and tables for 2 and 4 were space nicely. The staff are friendly, attentive, polite and courteous. Absolutely welcoming and delightful. The Korean pop music just added to the ambiance. Not too loud there you couldn't talk. 2-dinner buffet items, albeit only 17 items is more than enough for a full sample of their food items. The pizza was amazing. The amount of mozzarella cheese they use is very generous. The chicken: delicious. I can't say anything bad about it. Crispy, juicy and tasty. The oven baked spaghetti, fries were just that good. I would have had more if I could. I'm not a big toppoki fan, but my daughter loved it. 3-Value = 5 stars for the price. If it was closer, I would definitely go more often. The pizza is one of the best I've ever had. The whole wheat crust is thin and crispy. The sauces were light but the toppings provided absolutely generous. The boneless Korean fried chicken with sauce was my favourite. Definitely worth trying! Also, student lunch specials during the week! Now, all I can say is Gogogo! The value and quality are there to try yourself.
