Initially, I was going to review this place much lower but I got the sense that they were genuinely kind and great people. I live quite far away and dont get to travel downtown often. But when I do, I always look forward to the food and I was craving a chicken shawarma poutine. This came up as a well reviewed place for chicken shawarma poutine and so I went to try it and as soon as I got in through the door I was greeted with a cheerful and charismatic Hi. I specifically asked if they had chicken shawarma poutine and she nodded then proceeded to punch in my order. When I got it, I noticed that there wasn't any cheese or gravy on the poutine and asked “there is no gravy on the poutine?” And the guy answered back that this dish had enough flavour. I was actually quite disappointed since I was really looking forward to an actual chicken shawarma poutine with gravy and cheese so it honestly had a pretty big impact on my day. But the food was delicious and afterwards one of the workers offered me a free Falafel and said that it was most delicious when eaten fresh and it definitely was. That small gesture really turned the experience around. The food was still good and not too salty, but if youre looking for a shawarma poutine then this is not the place for it. The meal that I got should have been appropriately called Chicken shawarma fries or chicken...

The worst experience there is a worker with Egyptian accent there was shouting on me in this restaurant and abusing me ! And told me eat your food and go and it’s not your business! He was treating one new worker on his first day in a bad way shouting on him infront of the customers I just said that’s not good for the restaurant reputation and it’s not a good way ! He attacked me and other two workers were silent they tried to calm the situation but the guy was still saying lots of abusive words in Arabic he thought I don’t understand and in the end they team up with their friend! This behaviour is not acceptable !!! I even couldn’t finish my food there I took my food out as he said take your food and go or don’t talk ! I asked to give me the owner number they said we don’t have ! Then hardly I got the name they said Ahmed ! I’m sorry Ahmed but I’m so disappointed, the worst experience in a middle eastern restaurant ever it was today 13 oct around...

Pita and Hummus is a hidden gem that we're thrilled to have discovered! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and a menu that promises something delightful for everyone.

Their pita and hummus are a match made in heaven—soft, fluffy pita paired with creamy, flavorful hummus that's simply divine. The taco shawarma were unique and definitely an amazing dish to try out. Their stuffies are loaded with veggies and meat and honestly one can fill you up. Our favorite though had to be the Saj wrap and the shawarma plate. The wrap was soft when you bite and all the flavors hit at once, and the plate was a fabulous meal to have having lots of components to it.

The staff at Pita and Hummus were friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The inviting ambiance adds to the charm of this wonderful spot.

4.6/5 Popped in here over my lunch break as I was craving shawarma and was very pleasantly surprised by everything about this little establishment ☺️👏🏼 The interior/food area was very clean considering how busy they were - this was the first thing I noticed. Also the people working there were very kind, smiling and handing out free samples while customers waited for their food. The Arabic music added a nice vibe and I liked how the interior seating had a half inside/half outside arrangement. There was also a very organized “assembly line” of staff, which made things quick and efficient. The food itself was extremely tasty and very reasonably priced! (I paid $15 for a chicken shawarma plate w. 2 sides). My only (and very minor) complaint would be that there was no pita served with my meal, but that is definitely not a deal breaker by any means. Can’t wait to come back and try the falafel! 😋🌱

came here with my friend and we both got 2 shawarmas each (big mistake). The beef was not cooked properly let alone cooked at all (check photo for further explanation). now it makes sense why it cost $15 for 2. the chicken was not as bad, only because it was more cooked. they call it traditional shawarma but used tortillas to make it. anyways if you want to avoid getting ill I would stick with the chicken shawarma but honestly i would rather eat the shawarma at my school cafeteria and I swear to god on that. best part of the experience was the fried pita samples he handed out. overall 1/6 score, don’t recommend. and listen you can either take my advice or listen to the bots and family members he got to give him 5 star reviews 💯
