We hit up Placos Tacos on a Friday night with a reservation, thinking we’d stroll right in… but nope, the place was poppin’! Our table wasn’t ready at the reserved time because people were clearly having way too much fun to leave (and honestly, who can blame them?). Aria at the front handled it like a champ though—super friendly, gave us options, and kept things smooth. We decided to hang out and wait, and it was worth it. Now, I came in hyped for their famous Birria tacos, but they were sold out (heartbreaking, but also kinda proof that they must be amazing). So we switched gears and ordered a lineup that could rival a feast: California Shrimp, Nopales, Pastor, Cochinita Pibil, and a Pork Quesadilla. Every single one was chef’s kiss—flavor-packed, juicy, and just next-level good. To wash it all down, I went with the mango margarita. Tropical, tangy, not too sweet—basically, vacation vibes in a glass. Highly recommend. And shoutout to our server—sadly I forgot her name (rookie mistake on my part), but she absolutely crushed it. Super attentive, super chill, and made the night even better. Overall? Placos Tacos nailed it. Even with a wait and the missing Birria, the food and service totally made up for it. Already plotting my return visit… and next time, Birria is MINE. 🌮🔥🍹

Placo's Tacos, located in Kensington Market on Kensington, is such a delightful experience! We went during the Easter Long Weekend with lower foot traffic around 1 pm and it was not busy at all. Very nice staff and a cozy space to dine at. Definitely would come back and try more on the menu; they even offer breakfast! From the menu, we ordered tacos for lunch. The Birra (Beef) taco was well-seasoned and moist, while the Cochinita Pibil (Pork with avocado) was a standout with its delicious flavour. The California Shrimp taco was generously filled with cheese and shrimp, and the Fried Fish Taco was crispy and delectable. The Mojitos were well made and added to the meal. The double-layer corn tortilla shells effectively held the ingredients together. The restaurant provides seating for 22 guests, including 5 bar seats and a back patio. The bathroom is located in the back. The vibe was enhanced by the vibrant soundtrack featuring Marc Anthony and Salsa music. The service was great, as the staff efficiently took orders using portable devices and promptly served the tacos. They accept credit cards! Note, the latest return had fish tacos that were tasty but not resembling the same as we initially went. It wasn't in a crispy batter but almost like pan fried instead.

💕 ATTENTION MEXICAN FOOD LOVERS 💕 Run not walk to this amazing restaurant for your fill of Mexican delicacies. Why visit : 1) Exceptionally delicious tacos, chips n guac. One of the best tacos in Toronto. 2) Sumptuous portion size of each taco 3) Located in the renowned locality of Kensington Market. 4) Warm n humble hosts 5) Located in a beautiful yesteryears home, the vibe/ ambience of the restaurant is very positive. 6) They have a front and a back patio for outdoor sitting ( enjoy the warm days there) and beautiful indoor sitting as well. TIP: 1) Visit during happy hours ( 4 pm to 7 pm)for $ 10 drinks and to try 3 tacos (any type) for $18. Recommended dishes: You cannot go wrong with anything here, especially the tacos. But my personal favourite was cochinita pibil.

I almost walked by this place because the sign is easy to miss, but I'm glad I spotted it. I got there right on time for happy hour (which is several hours). I was the only person there since it was early on Tuesday....but I still couldn't believe that the place wasn't swarmed. Patio space in the front and back! I chose the back anc it is a huge yard! There are picnic tables and a stage area. The patio is covered with see through roofing so it would even be nice on a rainy day. The very back area where the stage is has no roof but a very big shady tree. The whole place has patio lights that must look amazing in the evening.

I had the 3 for $15 tacos, a taramind margarita, and a classic margarita. All were excellent and i would change nothing!

The service was so friendly and inviting! Im not sure if it was the owner or an employee but the man who waited on me was a absolutely delightful.

The experience was so good, I feel a little bad that it was just me. Im not in Kensington often but next time im in the area I will go back and I will bring...
