Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Toronto

Okay, so it has been awhile since I've been to a Popeyes, add to that an very very unpleasant Megan = 2 star review...

I love the Popcorn Chicken with Honey Mustard dip and Cajun Rice... They have none of this anymore!?!

When I asked for the Popcorn Chicken combo, I was told in a monotone voice "we don't have that"... I thought I was at the wrong restaurant, so I asked if they have Popcorn Chicken, again in a monotone voice "no" (add to that she didn't really look like she wanted to be there)... Megan did offer Chicken Nuggets, okay fine, can I have Honey Mustard sauce with that? "No, here are the sauces" as she motions towards the counter... Umm, none look really appealing (either too spicy or look like they belong on a salad), okay, BBQ Sauce I guess.

What side do you want said the robot, I mean Megan. Cajun Rice please! We don't have that. Hold on, Cajun Rice was the best thing ever, I would order the large every single time, even extra containers to eat later, what??? I asked again, Cajun Rice, you don't have that? I was told it's been gone for one year now. Wow, what the heck?

So here I sit, choking down luke warm Chicken Nuggets with horrible BBQ Sauce, with a side of luke warm extra creamy macaroni and cheese. At least the Diet Coke...

I recently visited the Popeyes location at 2561 St. Clair West, and I had a fantastic experience! The restaurant was clean, well-organized, and the staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. A special shout-out goes to Malik, who has taken my order. She was not only professional and attentive but also went above and beyond to ensure that my order was perfect. Her warm demeanor and quick service made the experience even more enjoyable. It’s clear that Malik takes pride in her work and cares about the customer experience.

As for the food, it was absolutely delicious! The fried chicken was crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside—just as you would expect from Popeyes. The sides were also spot-on: the mashed potatoes with gravy were creamy, and the biscuits were warm and perfectly flaky. Every bite was a treat. Had an amazing experience at Popeyes in Toronto! The food was absolutely delicious — hot, crispy, and full of bold Louisiana flavor. I tried the spicy chicken sandwich, tenders, fries, and even the biscuits — everything tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. What made the visit even more special is that my good friend Amankumar works here as a cook. Knowing he's in the kitchen gave me extra confidence, and he truly didn’t disappoint. You can tell the effort and care he puts into every meal — the quality of the food spoke for itself. The staff were friendly and efficient, and despite the rush, the service was smooth and fast. The restaurant was clean, well-organized, and had a great vibe overall. I’m proud to see Amankumar doing such a great job here — he’s passionate about his work and it clearly shows in the food.
