Pathetic food. I wonder how many people got paid to boost the rating of this place. If you torture your taste buds and lay siege to your stomach, go here.

The Dahi puri (requested to be very very very spicy with no sweet) was overloaded with sweet chutney to the point where it just tasted like crunchy sugar water. The server basically guilted us into taking it when though she knew she messed up the order and after tasting it I instantly regretted agreeing to take it.

The chole bhature was probably the worst I tasted in my life. The chole tasted so bad that I was just eating it with the onion and chutney at the end. The bhature was a small oil reserve. Not only was it the size of a small puri, but tasted nothing like bhature. It tasted like a thick puri.

The only dish that salvageable was pav bhaji and it was average. The bhaji tasted slightly old.

Both my wife and myself had stomach aches an hour later and had to take medication and some calming food to settle our stomach.

Eat here at your own risk. I don't know how Toronto code allows this place...

I had a disappointing experience at this place. The food was subpar, and the Achari paneer roll and Nutri kulcha were especially stale. To make matters worse, they don't offer refunds. I wouldn't recommend this downtown branch due to the poor quality and service.

Edited, In response to the reply by owner:

Thank you for your prompt response. If your service had been satisfactory, I wouldn't have written this.

Your review clearly shows how much you care about your customers. At the very least, you should ensure your staff has the facts right. Your staff offered us free gravy, but since we had an issue with it, we asked for kulcha instead. We barely had two spoonfuls. If we truly wanted free items, we wouldn't have spent $45. It was my birthday, and you completely ruined the night.

If you focused on improving the taste of your food instead of arguing with customers, it would be helpful for all of us! Regarding the negative reviews, only those who had a genuinely bad experience left them. There are good reviews as well, if you would care to...

Excellent food, probably one of my favourite Indian restaurants in Toronto! We ordered the dahi puri, stuffed tandoori chaap and the handi chaap pizza. The dahi puri was crisp and bursting with flavour, the portion was generous. The tandoori stuffed chaap was unique with a mildly sweet and spicy taste - the chaap pieces were stuffed with a rich paneer and nut mixture. The chaap was fresh and tender - would recommend!

The highlight of our visit was the handi pizza, which was worth the wait. Served in a traditional clay handi, it had succulent pieces of chaap doused in a desi tomato sauce with peppers and onions, and chunks of soft, sweet bread. The whole dish was topped with oodles of gooey amul (?) cheese and topped with mozzarella and oregano-chilli flakes. Probably one of the most unique fusion items I have ever eaten - definitely worth a try!

One suggestion would be to serve dine in orders in plates and cutlery rather than take...

I been to this place on Sept 22nd with my friend, thought of trying the same items which I tried on Scarborough one. I wanted to have kurkure momos & that masala dry Afghani momos(I said the name correctly that time coz I was looking the menu in my phn). I tried the same dishes at scarb.. anyways after ordering she asked us to wait and deliver me wrong items as mentioned in the bill, and upon asking saying that I ordered wrong. I told her I especially came here for those items and not these and u can take them back, and after changing I think she was mad on me or something because she couldn’t hear the order properly, she gave me these extra cooked/fried momos, Totally ruined the mood & ofc money. Will never go there, and suggest everyone reading this comment to go at scarborough site instead of this one either it will take an extra hour. ✌️

Punjabi Chaap Corner offers a decent selection of vegetarian items, and I recently tried their Masala Keema Kulcha and Tawa Chaap Kulcha. The Masala Keema Kulcha had a flavorful filling, though the seasoning felt a bit on the milder side. The kulcha itself was soft, but it could have been slightly crispier for a better texture. As for the Tawa Chaap Kulcha, the chaap was well-cooked and spicy but the overall taste lacked the punch I was hoping for. While both dishes were enjoyable, they didn’t particularly stand out. It’s a decent option if you’re in the mood for a quick bite, but nothing extraordinary.

What I liked: - great food at an affordable price - lots of choice on the menu - food seemed authentic - staff were helpful - mango lassi was delicious - clean casual restaurant with enough seating for about 25 people - easy to access location - 3 min walk from Dundas station What I didn’t like: - menu has a lot of choice but no descriptions of what the items are. For those of us not familiar with the food, it’d be helpful to know what words like chaap, chaska, chur chur, kulcha mean. My order: Keema Kulcha (a soy stew similar to chicken with two pieces of round fried bread) Mango lassi
