Had a rather interesting evening here. First time. My friend and I sat down, I asked the server/bartender for a rag so I could wipe the (dirty) table down. She looked annoyed and didn't say anything. Threw the menus down lol If she didn't want to wipe the table, she could've said so instead of huffing and puffing. I would've wiped it myself. I did ask for a rag after all.
Ordered the poutine and the server/bartender apologized and told us that the kitchen was cutting the potatoes to order and that they had to change the oil as well. So it would take longer than expected and because of that, it would be on the house. I thanked her. Thought that was very kind.
In the end, the second server dropped my bill off and I noticed I got charged for the poutine. So I asked if she could see if the bartender/server was going to honour her offer. If not, I would pay for it.
The server/bartender said, "On the house? Oh, I never said that. I said you will be so excited for your poutine!" My friend and I exchanged looks.
I've been in the industry and I had never promised something only to have taken it back. She even argued with the second server about it...it just made things really awkward... as if her denying her "on the house" poutine wasn't awkward enough.
The second server apologized profusely for the bad attitude, which was unnecessary. She also kept telling me to not pay for the poutine. I said I wanted to because the bartender/server was clearly getting mad.
Then the server/bartender had the audacity to say, "OK, I can take it off the bill if you don't want to pay for it!"
Lady, you were the one who offered us the poutine on the house...
She saw my tip (I ended up tipping more to cover the poutine), and then she started to apologize and said I had misunderstood her. I simply told her I was over the whole experience and to stop.
Needless to say, won't...
Read moreI enjoyed reading the options they offer but I wish they updated their menu with Vegan and Paleo as well as gluten free & dairy free options so that my friends, siblings and I had an opportunity to eat there without feeling shameful that we need to go somewhere else because they only offered a salad (one that you would have no idea if it was gluten free, dairy free or vegan). But, if you're a salad person (like myself), then at least you have that option. With that being said, I've gone there once before and I've ordered there "Cob Salad" without the cheese. Still unsure what's in their salad dressing but it was good (I assume that it has canola oil. I wish they would give you the option of just basic ingredients like balsamic vinegar and olive oil (nothing else) so that way people with health issues like myself have no health concerns or issues). Just wished when I ordered it last week that it came with avocado since that's what's written on their menu let alone egg and they don't do that. All my meal came with was lettuce, mixed peppers, cherry tomatoes, bacon and grilled chicken. So for the amount you're spending I feel...
Read moreWhen creating this review it asked which dishes would I recommend... I would say absolutely nothing that is deep fried I stopped by last night and ordered chicken fingers french fries onion rings chicken wings and mozzarella sticks The price is what it is it was pub food at just before 11:00 However it was inedible It honestly tasted like they hadn't changed their oil in the fryers in about 2 weeks Been absolutely everything was overcooked my girlfriend chipped a tooth trying to eat a mozzarella stick and I cut my gums open Flavor was good on the wings but that's about as big of a compliment I can give this place I used to come here to eat so much just a couple years ago and I will never go again In retrospect I would have rather to have paid the convenience store a few blocks down $80 for two beef patties rather than have this restaurant drown my food in a deep fryer and pay me $80 try and eat what I paid hard...
