This park is a great spot for a variety of activities and it has been improving year over year with investment from the city along with the attentiveness of the community.
Some of the highlights include a skating trail, skating rink, playground, community garden, off-leash dog park, two baseball diamonds, and a soccer field.
I used some of the picnic benches recently to catch up with some friends and just enjoy the outside weather together in these pandemic times.
It’s a really great public green space where you can enjoy in all seasons.
With winter around the corner and the temperature starts to dip down below zero consistently, you can expect to see families at the skating trail and rink (by appointment only) or take runs down the hills on toboggans on the east side of the park.
Not a far walk from Greenwood Park is a whole lot of great local restaurants and coffee shops that you can grab snacks and drinks...
Read moreGreat family park with something for everyone to enjoy. Big children's playground with a splash pad, full-sized swimming pool, sandbox with a water feature and even a firepit. A roller and ice skating rink plus a hockey area are also available. There is a baseball diamond and plenty of free green space for games or relaxation/ picnic. Adult exercise equipment is also present as well as a community garden. The dog park is amazing with sections for small or big dogs and has astroturf so the dogs don't get muddy. Lots of water stations and even a dog pool. However, there is an issue in regard to garbage being left around the park. The playground is strewn with swimming brackets from the pool, straws and other snack wrappers litter the sand and when people have parties they tend to leave all their garbage laying around the picnic tables. It's very...
Read moreI do not live in the area. On the invitation of my daughter, we went to the farmers market at the Greenwood Park. It was Saturday morning, a very bright sunny day. The grass in the Park was green and the air was filled with the smell of fresh fruits and goodies. Fresh home grown vegetables, fruits, preserves, jams and jellies, bake goods, home made bread, fudges and candies and food stalls, cocoa sticks which I had not seen since I left my home land in South America. We enjoyed walking around the park and running after my little grand. I Love the park because it is close to the road and I feel safe. Now that I have discovered the park I do plan to visit much more often. It is the perfect place to take my grandchildren for a walk and I do plan to visit the farmers...
