A clean and beautiful dog park. The "field" is filled with little pebbles which has its positives: clean, no grass upkeep, no mud. But I'm not sure how gentle they are on the paws. My little pal stuck to the sidewalk surrounding the pebbled area and it was a cool day. It must be very hot during the peak of summer.
There is no separate area for smaller dogs but there is a watering station by one of the entrances - which is an excellent feature but the best part about this park is the people. Like most downtown parks, it is filled with dog walkers. But unlike most of the other parks these walkers seemed to actually take responsibility for their dogs. There are some toy thieves in all time frames so be aware that you might lose a toy if you bring one.
The park is getting re-done later this year so if the stones are a concern to you (or your dog), just watch for...
