I’ve been going to a Randy’s for possibly more than 25 years, I was introduced to the beef patties by my friend Ted and I always made sure to stop by for a dozen hot and sometimes extra dozen frozen. Parking was always a challenge and some times I couldn’t stop but when I did by the time I got home I was missing 3 or 4 which made me feel bad because my whole family loved those patties Ever since they closed I felt bad for all the people in the endless line ups I had witnessed Was glad finally to hear they were reopening attempted a few times to drop by and finally I did today Walked in and ordered my usual dozen just to see how the new patty tasted like and the lady behind the counter even gave me a patty with a coco bread to try since I seemed a little green with the culture or maybe white I thanked her and off I went the cost of the patties had grown to $30 I guess everything has gone up in price and the patties are no exception I enjoyed the bread and patty combo but for me I am an one putty man The patties were good I had two by the time I got home and before leaving home I noticed some patties were missing from the box and one was half eaten So to sum up the patties still taste like Old Randy’s if not better the only difference I see as a white person is that the dough is not as the old Randy’s I think the recipe changed and the only negative thing is I didn’t find the patty spicy enough and also the size I think the patties got smaller as the price went up Will I come back? Definitely maybe I’ll ask for extra hot if they have them Thanks Randy for opening up again keep up the good work will try some jerk...
Read moreI would like to begin by expressing that Randy’s patties were once my favorite in the entire city. I would travel from the east to the west solely for these patties. Upon arriving at Randy’s at 11:15am, I encountered a lengthy line and, after an hour of waiting, the staff informed us that we should return at 3:30pm, as they had exhausted their supply of patties. When I inquired whether we would need to queue again, they confirmed that we would, showing a lack of concern for the customers, as they expected us to return and line up once more. A solution was eventually proposed to distribute numbers, allowing us to return later without having to wait in line again, given that we had been there since the morning. When 3:30 arrived, we returned to collect our order, only to find that a box of six patties cost $18, and we were left with no option but to select mild patties, which had not been told during the initial wait. At the checkout, the staff inquired if anyone wanted food, which incited frustration among the customers, who reiterated that we were there specifically for the Pattie’s not any other food items. Regarding my final assessment of the patties, while the meat was good, the pastry did not possess the desired flakiness. I believe the crust requires additional lard or butter to achieve more of a flaky crust that Randy’s Pattie’s use to have. I wish them success in the future, but I will not be returning to this location for patties and may have to seek alternatives in...
Read moreI’ve waited so long and I finally had the chance to visit Randy’s since their reopening and I’m sorry to say I am disappointed. I blindly bought 2x dozen frozen patties, bought one hot ready patty to eat. Spent approximately $70.00. When I took a bite I noticed that the pastry was a little different, no big deal but the meat filling was dry like a paste! Where’s the runny gravy that you used to have? At $30 for a dozen if it was the original patty that we known Randy’s for, no problem. So I thought ok I’ll warm up the frozen ones I purchased. Nope they were the same dry patties. So disappointed, drove so far for nothing. And the frozen patties were baked! People buy the frozen patties unbaked so the dough can be fresh and to be enjoyed freshly baked. Also they were inconsistent. On the board it said spicy only, then they asked me spicy or regular so I said one of each. I bought 2x boxes. But when I warmed the “regular” patties they were spicy. Anyways I’m not sure if these are the same people from before. For the high price point and dry patties. I do not recommend. I would rather go to either Tinnels or Kingston patties. Please bring back the original patties. Cheaper and better. There was no line up when I arrived maybe people are catching on and are one...
