Tucked away in the back of the Malvern Mall and within a West Indian Grocery store is where you’ll find this hidden gem! Since attending their grand opening this year I have had the pleasure of indulging many times.

The variety of fish is a wonderful surprise being some one who is a pescetarian (no chicken, beef, pork). From traditional fried snapper, king, salt fish salmon steaks and one or two more I can’t remember the name of but are delicious! Also, the vegan options are plentiful which is a rarity for most West Indian restaurants I’ve been to. For example, they offer Callaloo without the salt fish as a regular option. I usually get my main with traditional rice and peas (kidney beans) and it’s alway moist even without any sort of gravy. Although I personally haven’t eaten the meat options, my fiancé can’t get enough of the jerk chicken with oxtail gravy of course. As the cherry on top, the young ladies that serve the food are always so sweet and sometimes add plantains at no extra charge.

I was a bit nervous sharing this restaurant with the rest of the world because it’s so good I wanted it all to myself… just kidding! However, It’s so important to eat locally to ensure small businesses such as Scotchies can continue to provide authentic, delicious and healthier options. Definitely earned every...

This was my first time ordering from Scotchiees so I wasn’t sure what some dishes were. Luckily the young lady was happy to answer my questions, remained patient and flexible when it came to helping with my order. I ordered 30 wings getting half jerk and half bbq flavours, 3 fritters (2 veggie, 1 saltfish) and a small container of some green leaf veggies.

It was only after I got home, I realized my receipt showed that I was over charged. I called them to clarify the situation and they said they’d rectify the overcharge as long as I had the receipt. I returned and they did what was promised.

Overall my experience was pretty positive regardless of the overcharge error, since in the end they made sure correct it. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. I’m happy to say I will be returning in the future to support this...

Scotchiees is a brand new Jamaican takeout restaurant located in Malvern Mall. Their menu offers most Jamaican favourites, including Oxtail, Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat, Ackee, and more.

I dropped in during their soft opening period to try their food. Most of it can be seen in a steam table and it all looked good.

I had their small oxtail. It was a generous serving, with rice & peas, fried plantain, and vegetables. It was tasty and tender and attractively presented on a banana leaf in the takeout container. Nice touch!

The place looks very attractive, although it's obvious that some finishing touches still need to be applied. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

I'll be back to try more...

I decided to try this place based on the high reviews and my craving for some good Caribbean food, but it turned out to be a big mistake. I ordered Goat Curry with rice and peas, and vegetables. It smelled amazing, and I was excited to dig in. However, halfway through my meal, I discovered a large piece of plastic embedded in the goat. Just imagine that plastic marinating and cooking with the food! I definitely won’t be returning, and I advise other patrons to be cautious. A health and safety inspection is definitely needed at this restaurant. I guess this is what I get for trying restaurants in Malvern!

Today I took my family to get some lunch. I got the special and a small jerk chicken. As you can see the food was not only looking and tasting absolutely delicious!!!! But the food was plenty to feed my family. Both the lady and the gentleman were so helpful and so very kind😇.... I would definitely recommend this place to get great food, great service and overall great experience 👍 ❤️.
