Second Cup Café — Restaurant in Toronto

This location makes me wonder if there is a manager running it or a district manager who ever visits because it has been now about 4 or 5 times coming in to do some work and the service level is below what you would expect at a McDonald's store. Yet, they have invested in improving the decor and branding all around. The staff members speak to each other in a disrespectful way in front of customers and in the middle of transactions with customers. They yell at customers and do not miss a single occasion to make customers feel stupid for asking a question. They ought to stop working in a customer facing job. Truly pathetic. They should visit a Starbucks location and understand why we the consumers feel okay spending $5 on a starbucks coffee, but not on a Second cup coffee. At least not from this location. Deplorable! I gave it 2 stars because they have clean seats, tables, wifi and good coffee. But service is everything and I give them 0...

My first time not only at this location, but my first time ever drinking at a Second Cup Coffee. I was visiting from out of town and meeting my aunt here. I ordered hot chocolate with no whipped cream. It was absolutely tasteless. They put steamed milk on the top, which I thought was a bit odd. I usually drink hot chocolate from Starbucks and they don't do this. I went to use the washroom and there was a sign on the door stating to get the key from the staff. So I waited behind a customer to get the key. They informed me the key was on the other side of the counter. In the time it took me to ask for the key, another customer got it. Why not put on the door where one can find the key?! I'm going to stick to Starbucks and...

August 30, 2025 between 9:30am to 10am, we grabbed coffee and we were the only customers at the time. The 2 female employees didnt even greet us as we enter. As we approached the register, they continued talking and didnt even bother stopping to acknowledge us. We didnt mind but when the female employee in pigtails took our order, we were rushed she kept saying anything else? Again, there are no other customers in the whole store at the time. They even forgot to make one of our drinks, i had to ask them if they are making it. They didnt apologize for it and just placed the coffee in the handoff table. No sorrys or even thank you or anything.
