My friends and I, as well as our lively brood of youngsters, decided to venture out for dinner one evening at what we thought would be a delightful family-friendly restaurant. But the experience turned out to be nothing short of a nightmare.
The atmosphere at our table was slightly louder than others, and yes, a bit chaotic - the chatter of little voices and peals of giggles could be heard every now and then. To us, it was the typical cacophony of children just being children.
But what occurred next left us all feeling appalled and upset.
The restaurant's owner, whose brows were visibly furrowed at our children’s cheerful chatter, approached our table. He started by saying that he found our table to be disruptive, the kids too loud. As if this wasn't a blow enough, he went on to criticize us, stating that we were being 'disrespectful' and not having 'our kids in control'.
His words were not a polite request to lower the volume, but an outright admonishment, delivered in an intimidating tone loud enough for neighbouring tables to hear. It was deeply uncomfortable, not just for us, but for our children too, who looked back at us with wide-eyed confusion.
The owner's approach was unnecessary and unprofessional. As parents, we understand that not everyone is fond of the typical energy children bring, but the way this issue was addressed was absolutely not acceptable.
This restaurant turned out to be a poor choice for our group. The owner's lack of empathy, understanding, and customer service skills leaves me no choice but to rate it poorly.
Family dinners are meant to be full of joy, chatter and laughter. A restaurant should not just be about serving food, it should be about creating an experience, one where customers feel comfortable and welcome. Regrettably, this establishment missed the mark entirely.
Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant, especially to families with young children. It's a shame that the owner’s lack of grace and understanding spoiled what could have been a...
Read moreTo get directly to the point - I had the worst restaurant experience of my life. I have never dealt with such rude staff. Please note that three out of the 5 of us in our group have worked in the service industry for 10 plus years. Server name: Raimondo
We placed our order and one member of our group had received the wrong order. We didn’t realize this until she took a few bites. We called our server over and he tells us it is too late and she should have never touched it if it was wrong so therefore it was our fault. A member at our table approached the server to resolve this because it was beyond inappropriate how he spoke to us. After this incident, we didn’t feel comfortable staying for dessert and coffee (like we always do) so we asked for our bills. Our server brought our bills and hands us the machine saying that gratuity has been included. It was not written on our bill, written on our online reservation or printed on their menu that gratuity was automatically applied. We were a group of 5 and the server was adamant about us paying a 18% tip without us selecting for ourselves. Even though I would have left that or more anyway, it is not up to you as a server to select what the guest tips you. Under no circumstances do you do that. We asked to see a manager and no one ever came. Raimondo was incredibly rude about our meals, did not fill up our waters or provide us any service that entitled him to a superb tip. Again myself and two others of our group have worked in the industry for more than 10years. We respect servers on a whole other level than most of the population and that is not how you should treat anyone in your...
Read moreMy wife and I live around the corner so we walk by this place every single day, so on Friday June 17th, 2016, we decided to give it a try.
The first impression was nice; the decoration is neat, with nothing too fancy. We were taken to a table for 2 by the waiter and just as we were going to sit, the owner or manager comes and tells us we can't sit there because that table is reserved. No big deal because the place was close to empty, so we moved to another table and gave no more thought to it.
Then the "good" part; for roughly 15 minutes NOBODY asked us if we wanted a drink, or if we decided what to order. There were 5 waiters and NONE OF THEM was paying any attention to the tables (one of them was even folding napkins while we were just sitting there). I had to wave at one of them (pretty much as you would do on a stadium to get a beer) so he approached the table, we ordered our drinks and just when we were going to order the appetizers, the guy just left us. Un - freaking - believable. Anyway, the guys goes to the bar, the bartender serves our drinks (one beer and a glass of white wine) and he just left it there. We could see the beer and the wine just seating there, NOBODY PICKED THEM UP! At that time, we had been there for more than half and we still hadn't order food, so we just decided to pay for the drinks and leave.
I don't think I'll ever set foot again in that place...
And, by the way, if anyone related to the restaurant reads this, I was the guy wearing the white shirt in the corner table. Check your CCTV (if you have it) and you'll se...
