My 3rd review in 4weeks and it's 5* this time too! Great job Rose and Sushi Rock team! The food has always been great, service has significantly got better and I'm so happy to see that! Truly appreciate you all talking the feedback and working towards doing better! Kudos to you guys!
A must try here is the Sushi Pizza, it's a unique dish and you'll love it! A must! Also, the Yam rolls are too good! Great job team!
My 5* review after meeting with Rose at Sushi Rock- I'm changing my rating from 1star earlier to 5star with today's experience. Below are the reasons why - I was craving for a good sushi today and happened to reorder. They serve really good food. On my arrival to the restaurant, to my surprise Rose(Owner of the restaurant, which as later disclosed) asked if I was the same customer who left a bad 1star review. And I said Yes. She asked "I apologies for earlier experience, we found the Sushi Pizza while closing the restaurant. What can we do to make you feel better" She took accountability and ownership of the situation and tried to resolve, apologizing for earlier experience. She offered that this order is on them and I politely declined.
Restaurants have suffered enough with pandemic lockdowns and I don't need free food. I just need value for the money we pay and people like Rose ensure that they will work hard to make customer happy!
Everyone deserves a second chance, my conversation with Rose made me believe that. I don't need to leave a review for food, they always have been one of the best around Yonge-Eglinton neighborhood.
Happy New Year, Rose!!! You did great today, wishing you all the best!
My earlier 1star review, 2weeks ago-
The worst sushi place ever, agree with some negative comments. THIS IS NOT A JAPANESE PLACE DON'T GET FOOLED!!!!! It's run by some bunch of inexperienced people for some pocket money, and no sense of responsibility. How do I know? Read below....
People working in the restaurant are extremely rude and have ZERO understanding of customer service. You will never hear a welcoming voice on phone or a smiling welcoming face at this restaurant when you visit.
This is my second bad experience with them in 6months, they tried to cheat us by not packing one of the items. When we called back, they accused us of lying and said the item was packed. When I asked to show CCTV recording if it was packed, another person apologized and gives us the missing item. You cannot accuse a customer with a proof, 1st rule of running business. Always respect customers, they are the reason you have a job.
Word of advice to the management: please get some customers training for your employees, this is by far the worst customer experience ever. They don't understand orders, don't give right orders to chef, unwelcoming and extremely rude tone on phone. Looks like it's run by inexperienced people who care nothing about customers or loyalty. How do I know? The same mistake cannot happen and the service cannot continue to...
Read moreCame here twice. After a questionable first time, I thought I would give it another shot. However it was worse than my initial try.
I have three main gripes about this place.
The service. I asked for water twice, from two different people and they both forgot. One of the servers went over to another staff member and then just started talking amongst themselves.
Needless to say, I asked the sushi "chef" for water and he yelled at them to fill my glass.
Also, the chef took out the garbage (it was a leaking bag, too) in front of all the patrons. It was gross.
The food. When serving sashimi, the constant variable is to make sure there ARE NO BONES, and that the fish is actually sliced through. Yeah that didn't happen here. Im not sure how these guys actually got 4-5 stars.
Maybe the reviewers are used to grocery store sushi or something. Maybe these are the type of people from Peterborough or something, and do the get out often.
THE INSECTS! Fruit flies everywhere. They actually landed on my food, and kept flying near my face. Very unpleasant experience. There were ants on the back wall by the takeout containers and the staff seem to not care about this.
I sit here in the restaurant when I'm writing this review, and I hope that people actually see what I've written. This place is not good at all.
Actual Japanese people would be cringing at this. I guess this is the problem with Chinese-owned sushi places. They don't care about anything to do with...

6TH MAY 2024 NOT ALL YOU CAN EAT ANYMORE
Not all you cna eat anymore
So so, not AYACE anymore but still advertises as...
Been awhile since eaten here and it's moved further north , north of Broadview...
Had 2 torched rolls, just smelled torched and smothered in sauce. Again tempura shrimp not the lightest crispiest batter, and the sizzling beef was drenched in sauce and way too much pepper so all you could taste was pepper to cover the blandness of the meat.
I do not think I would bother going back, as many more sushi options in the area. Disappointed. Waitress could have smiled and seemed a bit welcoming...I felt like we were annoying her. Usually do not like to give bad reviews, but was disappointed in the food and service.
Just my opinion. Prior visit review when it served as an all you can eat...prior 2023 Good choice of items, fast and friendly service...sushi not amazing but not the worst.
Eel sushi was not slathered in sauce but marinated which was nice!! Short ribs very good...tempura batter bit thick if lighter and crisper would be better...
Got given someone elses order...of roll which added more to our oder that ee had to eat even though advised that we didnt order it but other than that a good...
