I want to preface this review by first saying I'm not generally someone who writes reviews, nor am I someone who complains often, but I had a very bad experience and hope that this review can help with making some improvements.
Last night, at around 7:45 pm, I called this snakes and lattes location to ask what the wait would be like for a party of 3. The host enthusiastically told me that they don't take reservations because have a very large space, and would definitely be able to accommodate us.
I then proceeded to order an uber and make my way to snakes and lattes with my party. Upon arrival (around 8:05 pm) the same host who had answered my call greeted us at the host stand and told us that there were not any tables available. I brought up that I was told they had plenty of room roughly 20 minutes ago over the phone, and his response was that the place had filled up completely in the last 20 minutes.
This was already frustrating, but the host then told us that they don't have a waitlist, and recommended that we come back in 30 minutes to an hour to see if any tables had freed up. My party and I went for a walk and returned about half an hour later (8:40pm). When returning, some sort of hand written waitlist had been put into place, and parties who had just walked in (and had not been waiting for 30 minutes) were being placed ahead of my party. We were told we'd be looking at roughly 10pm for a table. We ordered another uber back to our original location and left.
This was an extremely bad experience, and I sincerely hope that this doesn't happen to anyone else. My suggestions for improvements would be as follows.
Train staff to not provide any guarantees over the phone in terms of table availability. It was extremely frustrating to pay for an uber and not be seated after a verbal guarantee was made. Put a waitlisting system in place. It does not have to be fancy, and can be done on a piece of paper if need be. It allows for people who've been waiting to get seated with a fair amount of wait time. The current system does not make any sense and rewards randomization.
I lost time and money as a result of these processes being overlooked. I hope that this review can help with providing a better...
Read moreIf you're bringing a date, I think this fun and diverse atmopshere is a great spot that I would still recommend. It's essentially as good of a time as your group makes it, which is usually an all but guarenteed good time!
I think large groups are punished a bit since a group of 6 is paying $60 just to sit down and then forced to pay 18% tip on what has been pretty consistent poor service for me. Unless you're finding time to play 3 games together, you might be better off spending that $60 on a brand new game and ordering in.
On one visit (for a mingle event), one girl at the table asked them to throw out a glass that was chipped and that slightly cut her lip. I'm actually not sure what I would have done in that case, but that was just one of many cases I've seen when nothing was done after a negative experience. "Yup, we will throw it out. Thanks!" Just feels cheap when the customer was effected yet not compensated and still expected to pay $10 table fee and a mandatory 18% tip.
I'm officially done attending after my last three visits - 2 of which saw me sitting with an empty beer glass for over an hour. I went just last night, and my server only asked us what she could get for us once in three hours. We had to flag others down to put in two additional orders, and it took her at least 30 minutes (a full game of Japiur) to bring us the water we asked for after sitting down.
After asking for two "midtown promotial pricing red beers" she brought us two different but more expensive red beers. I've never had a server admit to giving us the wrong beer, yet still do nothing about it and still charge us an additional $5 despite us letting her know we would never have ordered the other beers if we knew about the price difference. Not exactly night ruining, but the additional costs really add up, and the repeated poor or at least very slow service is enough for me not to return. I will still encourage others to check it out, as it's a great spot for the hobby. Hopefully the...
Read moreI wish I had something less than a single star. Shall never recommend anyone to visit this place.
I had an extremely pathetic experience today. We had already booked our table beforehand mentioning it's a birthday celebration, however the cake we had brought for our friend was not allowed. We were given the condition that the cake is outside food and we need to pay 2$ per person to have it. We agreed to pay the same. But when we requested the birthday cake to be cut by our friend who had the birthday it wasn't allowed. They wanted to cut the cake themselves and serve us. Who on earth would let another person cut their birthday cake !!!! That was a terrible gesture and unexpected from such "reputed" and highly rated place.
The service was extremely annoying as the food we ordered needed cutleries, we were 5 persons and were given only 2 set.. we requested several times to get more but they were audacious enough to say they don't have anymore cutleries with them. How can one believe that on a weekday evening the cutleries are not available. If this is a scene on a weekday what would have happened on a weekend.
We requested for more napkins but even that was not provided. The service was really disappointing as no one attended us, we had to call each and every time for help when it wasn't full .
I believe they understand the fact that their services aren't upto the mark so they already deducted 18% gratuity on the total bill or we would have never given a tip for this kind of service. Except the huge collection of games nothing is likeable from my experience. The food was average but the experience made it even worse.
We were also told that apart from entry fees of 8$ per person we must ensure to have food and drinks worth 15$, if service is good we would have been glad to pay or even more..but our experience...
