I came here for the first time with a group of 3 on a Tuesday evening. The reason we actually chose to come here is because they were rated pretty highly on a few Vegetarian Ramen lists. They even have a specific vegetarian section on their menu with 4 different types of Veggie Ramen.

We arrived around 7pm and were told there was a wait of about 30-40 minutes, but to check back in 20min. We decided to take a walk and come back since it was so full inside. After about 20min we were seated right away.

We ordered : Ramune - sweet carbonated drink with a pretty unique bottle lid. It was super sweet and reminded me of a summer cooler.

Asahi Draft Beer - This was a really light beer with a great taste, it definitely paired well with the Ramen.

Chicken Karaage Don - A little disappointing, there was actually so little meat on top of a full bowl of rice. It was definitely more hype than anything.

Spicy Red Miso Ramen - really tasty and filling

Spicy Vegetarian Red Miso Ramen - also really tasty, and a great veggie option.

The Ramen dishes tasted great! however, I actually didn't notice too much of a difference between the Spicy Vegetarian Red Miso Ramen and the Spicy Red Miso Ramen except for the Pork. I'm not the biggest fan of pork, so I might just get the vegetarian version next time.

The restaurant itself if in pretty close quarters, and it can get pretty loud. Also if you have asthma or are sensitive to smoke, you might want to be careful since the kitchen is pretty much an open concept, the smoke alarm went off a couple of times during our time there.

However, everything else about this restaurant is impressively highly efficient! The servers here are very attentive and are definitely on top of everything. It was definitely a great first Ramen Experience.

Pro Tips:

If you're having trouble deciding what to order, they have a chalkboard on the wall which lists all the Ramens in order of popularity.

The Ramen dishes are a decent size, and one person can definitely finish it on their own, but if you feel like sharing, they are so chill about it and will gladly bring you...

When my friend, a local Torontian, highly recommended Ramen Isshin, you can be sure Hubby and I were definitely going to take their advice and we are so glad we did. The food, service, and the atmosphere were top-notch as Isshin Ramen is a great place to get a delicious and authentic ramen experience.

We started off with a shared plate of Hiya Yakko, which is cold tofu smothered with their secret freshly made chili oil, with green onions and bamboo shoots delicately layered on top. It was a refreshing and flavorful start to the meal.

For our main entrees, I ordered the Isshin Red Miso ramen which set the food mood as it had a wonderful aroma. The thick and wavy noodles were perfect as the ground tofu and wood ear mushrooms were able to intermingle with the noodle’s waves nicely. The depth and dimensions were outstanding. My Hubby had the Vegetarian Roasted Garlic Shoyu which my Hubby declared was delicious, with two varieties of mushrooms: shiitake and button. Both our noodles had the perfect bounce and the soups were rich, we quaffed all of it.

We concluded our meal with Kakigori Hochi Cha. Our shaved ice was very different from the Korean Bingsu we were accustomed to, as we found this to be more refreshing. The Japanese Kakigori is ice based and made from water. The ice had been grounded down to flakes and then the sweet milky Hochi cha was adorned on top of the ice flakes. Beyond sublime! It was a seasonal special so always ask what their seasonal desserts are and save room for them.

My only suggestion is for the servers to take away the trays, as the tables are a bit tight. This is a minor suggestion, but didn't detract from my...

We love Japan and its people, we go to Japan almost evry year a few weeks ago we went to Okinawa Japan and we loved it from it people to the places landscapes and foo But the manager of this place really destroyed our dinner night out over a simple juice…. I went to this place to have dinner with my wife, when people go out to dine, we go out to have a good time, a good dinner and a good drink, I order a Mango Juice, I was expecting a topical Mango juice as the name said, the waiter who was very nice from the beginning to end he never told me that there was a green chemical in the drink which, when I looked at the drink I told the waiter that that chemical can may be hurt my stomach which he understood and nicely apologized and took the drink away, at the end of the bill the manager who I ask for his name so I can name him here and speak to the owner about his attitude but he denied to me , he was forcing us to pay for a drink I didn’t ordered, I ordered a simple Mango juice not a juice with some green colorant, but when I told him that we do have here in Ontario Restaurants food regulation minister then he apologized and took the juice out of the bill but we feel that our dinner time was turned into a disaster by the manager action….The waiter did was very nice, if you go there be careful with the manger way of treating his customers. we will never go back...

Satisfying meal on every level! Everything was cooked to perfection, super flavorful and warming. Would definitely go back again and again! We tried the Chicken Karaage and it was the best I’ve had so far! The Gyoza was crunchy and tasty. The stone bowl Shoyu Kotteri dipping ramen was sooo delicious as well as the White Sesame Shio.

WHAT TO TRY?! The ramens! Spicy Red Miso is popular! Kotteri Rich Shoyu is creamy! Black sesame tan tan noodle is unique! We tried Spicy Red Miso ramen and Kotteri Rich Shoyu ramen and both were full of flavor. Too bad it's only two slices of meat per bowl, but each bowl can definitely fill you up. Spicy Red Miso has more shredded meats and bean sprouts. It is on the spicy side, but it's not unbearably spicy. Good for cold winter days! Kotteri has half of an egg and seaweed too, and it's really creamy! If you like creamy soup bases, then you'll like the Kotteri ramen. We also ordered takoyaki which was nice too. Freshly fried to order and lots of octopus pieces in each ball. The dish is also topped with dried shavings of squid! LAST TIP?! It's REALLY busy and too bad they don't take reservations. You can certainly put your name down and ask how long the wait is. I've seen people put down their name and come back awhile later after they find out how long the wait is and they don't lose their spot in the line! You might have to share a table with another pair of diners if you get a table for four and you're in a pair yourself. So get comfortable with that!!
