Around 12+ years ago we bought a Norco Monterey bicycle from this location, with wonderful perfect disc breaks, never had a flat tire, never needed a tune-up, I just oiled the chain every now and then. Again, as stated before: patient staff, not pushy, friendly, warm, gracious, respectful. A++ experience - the favorite bicycle shop in GTA! Last year got a pair of very bright LED lights (USB charged): white & red! Update: returned to the store in early January 2020 and purchased a Fuji Commuter bicycle, with a light frame, a lots of speed (3x8) and disc break on both front, and back wheels - a highly recommended bike /setup when you swim with the sharks (RIP Rob Ford!) on Kingston Road in Scarborough East! Also got a reflective night jacket from the neighboring construction clothing store - please buy the electric green one with bright yellow stripes ($7.95) and you will experience the unique miracle of your life! (I guess the jacket looks like the one worn by police officers, all cars will slow down around you, you will hear people removing their feet from the gas pedal!)

One thing I've learned during the pandemic is patience; that not all things can be done immediately. Global material shortages and supply chain disruptions meant that I couldn't buy a new bike in 2021 so I dug up my old 2012 Cinelli Vigorelli frame and decided to build it up to use this year. I had all the components I needed save wheels and tires. I contacted BOW and they miraculously had the wheelset and tires I was looking for. I was told that I could bring my frame in and they would install everything while I waited. I thought this was incredible considering with any type of retail (especially transportation or exercise related) usually meant coming back another day to pick up one's purchases. The staff at BOW were not only helpful and efficient but followed the necessary COVID protocols to keep customers and staff safe. Well done! In need of a new bike or components? Check out BOW. And please be patient.

Today I got my dream bike, and I can’t thank enough Sean, Bike on the Wheels, and their amazing manager, Harrison. He not only helped me choose the perfect bike, but also went above and beyond to fit it with the best and most stylish accessories. I’ll admit—I was a bit of a ā€œneedyā€ customer, asking to swap out gears, try different accessories, and fine-tune every detail. Each time, Harrison was incredibly patient, kind, and helpful. He even went out of his way to another shop to get the exact parts needed to complete the look I envisioned. His deep knowledge, genuine kindness, and top-notch customer service made the whole experience unforgettable. I truly feel I’ve found my new biking community in Toronto—a place I’ve been searching for over the past two years. Highly recommend! šŸš²šŸ’š

gave my bike on Saturday to change the bottombracket .. mechanic_1 told like will give me a call on Tuesday .. I got call by Tuesday evening like they need to change the entire set including bottom bracket (chain, crank, detailer, etc) .. it's gonna cost me 200$ ( not clear if it's service fee alone, probably service fee cus the parts alone could cost around 200$) .. I requested mechanic_1 to replace the bottombracket alone and return the bike (no need to even fit anything back ) .. he said will call in sometime and didn't call .. today evening I went to the shop to visit him in person and tell him what I want incase if I'm was not clear .. but unfortunately mechanic_1 was not there .. mechanic_2 told will bring the bike .. told like it's too hard to take the bottombracket out etc (something they will do for 200$ if I replace all the parts, it seems when replacing all the parts it's not hard, but replacing bottom bracket and not even fitting anything back it is hard ) .. and gave the bike to me in way that he want to get rid of it (the mechanic_2 doesn't seems to speak English) .. and told like "it's too expensive to fix .. you can get a new bike" .. I came to "bikesonwheels" on my ebike .. so can't take it with me at that time .. they force me to take the bike with me because customerfacingstaffmemmber_1 told like "we are running out of space to keep inside" .. and mechanic_2 told like "you can park it outside" .. parking a bike outside in that area is like throwing it in garbage .. it will be stolen easily .. but I had no choice but to leave it parked outside and come home

below are the reasons why I'm giving a very poor rating for this place : poor customer service ( don't care what customer wants, poor communication) no follow up with customer ( didn't call when he said will call) only for money (ofcourse it's a business, but since it's one of the few shops that fixes bikes in that area and customers have no option but to do what they tell you else they will technically throw your bike out .. similar to getting robbed by a thug )

about me : I myself own .. 1 bike 1 ebike 2 motorcycles 1 car

also have an engineering degree .. also worked with lots of mechanics before

Note : while writing this comment .. my bike is still parked outside :( .. hopefully it...

I've been going to Bikes on Wheels since they switched ownership about 5-6 years ago. As a 46 year-oid man who is neither rich nor a bike fanatic, I've never had anything but a positive experience there. I became a city rider late in life and found the Bikes on Wheels crew to have always been very helpful - this can't be said for every store in the city. There are "bike snob" shops, but this isn't one of them. It's true that a lot of the guys are young and into a certain kind of look, but they all get excited whenever they hear that people are into bike riding or are just getting into it, and have always provided a lot of good advice to newbies. The service is as prompt as can be expected for a place that's as busy as it is. It's true that the bikes aren't cheap, but they don't push sales on their customers either, and always offer cheaper solutions and recommend alternatives from other bike stores in the city, when price is an issue. I've NEVER known any other shop to offer reco's outside their own to customers. When my wife was looking for a specific road bike that they were unable to stock at the time, they sent our business to another shop in the city who were able to get it for her quickly, effectively putting themselves out of a lot of $$. Also, quality never comes cheap, but BOW often has sales that make the price easier to bear. I've seen people get their nose out of joint a few times at the shop when I've been in, but also found that those people were also the same over-moneyed, self-entitled types who think that their patronage exempts them from waiting in line to be served. Quick to take affront, quick to give insult and quick to cause a scene. Good service to me, means take a number, get comfortable and waiting your turn. If you can't wait, go somewhere else. It's a concept and sense of common courtesy that's lost on both younger and older people who are themselves, rude and impatient. And the waiting part when they seem to be talking up other people? It's called making a sale and part of keeping them and the store afloat. Get over it. If you ever worked retail in your life,...

I wouldn't take a rusty old bike you found in the garbage to this place. The mechanic is useless and the manager is absolutely obnoxious, defensive and unbelievably rude. You can't say anything to him without a defensive, childish argument. Instead of saying, 'bring the bike in and we'll fix it' the guy got defensive and argumentative and wouldn't look at me while I was speaking to him, it was like talking to an obnoxious teenager. I could do better myself fixing my own bike than take it to this place, shockingly bad service and follow up. I don't think I've ever been spoken to so rudely in a business as I was by this manager. Every repair I had done here, had something wrong with it, and the parts they put on are cumbersome and had to be redone three times.

I had new handlebars and gear shifters put on, I got halfway to the door and the shifter mechanism was so close that it crushed my fingers and I couldn't put my hands around the handlebars. What kind of idiot does workmanship like this? this is someone who has zero experience with putting these on a bike or it would be done perfectly. The other guy at the front tried wrenching the new shifters off without using a screwdriver, brand new and he was twisting on them. I have never seen, on any other bike the cumbersome garbage that they installed on my bike, some junk they wanted to get rid of because they didn't have the skill set to put on some nice shifter/brake combination. What kind of mechanic can't do it right the first time? a guy who hasn't done it before. I still have problems with some of the parts and will get them changed at MEC or some other place. Why are they so rude to people? What kind of business...
