Starbucks — Restaurant in Toronto

The employees here are overworked, to a point where the experience is ingenuine. It is VERY uncomfortable when an individual walks into a store to have everyone in the store exclaim good morning or hello, especially if they are working on the other side of the store. It makes you want to walk out and never return. Almost exactly as when you walk into retail stores to browse and get followed by employees asking whether they can help you, which we can all agree is annoying. Today I learned that they are forced to do so. I witnessed the store's manager walk into the store, walk out, and walk in again, just because she wasn't greeted by every person in the store, which I found out after discussing with the employees. Store clearly has bigger problems, such as shortages, busy lines, inorganization, no seating, homeless people harassing people outside, etc., and the manager is focused on something miniscule and something that people don't want?! This place has gone downhill. Nonetheless, I blame the manager, not the employees. They are only doing their jobs, and they go above and beyond to make sure customers leave the...

I came in yesterday with my tantrum-throwing toddler, and a kind employee named Janelle took my order, which was just a coffee, and quickly gathered it. She then went out of her way to give my daughter a cake pop, not even knowing that that was what she wanted and threw a tantrum about since I told her she could not have one outside, instantly putting a smile on my daughter's face. Another barista named Wes was also kind and started a conversation with me about my day. Also, I've come to this location quite a few times, and I noticed that each employee is friendly and greets me almost as soon as I walk in, and they go out of their way to make sure my experience is perfect. They are quite understaffed though, but the staff that they have right now are wonderful and I hope they continue to hire people who can live up to the people working there now! The food was great but I’m only giving it three stars. Why? It’s not because it’s horrible-but I don’t want to sugarcoat my reviews just because the workers are nice. The drinks are so overrated and you could get them for cheaper at other places. I’m giving the service 4 stars because at least the staff actually take the time to make your order. The atmosphere is only getting two stars. It isn’t the staff or even the place itself. It’s just the people who go there. They’re not that loud but they gossip a lot and give you stink-eyes.
