St. Urbain bagel has been a part of my family breakfast table for generations. There are few things better than a fresh warm Montreal Bagel in my opinion. This review is specific to the one experience I've had with this location in Toronto through Uber Eats.
There were two offers when I ordered on Oct 30th. Whether you bought a half dozen or a dozen you were to get another free half dozen. Clicking on the offer though was not enough apparently and you had to further chase the offer by click another section to reassure the store that you wanted the free stuff. Who doesn't want the free stuff? I would say a very select few. So, I happened to not see this reassurance section and therefore didn't receive the free bagels I was excepting and was offered. Most other Uber eats offers happen automatically once you've clicked the one button the rest just applies or it doesn't let you go past an area if it is deemed required. Which, when offering a promo, you should make it as easy and consistent for the customer as possible. Otherwise people just feel like they're getting ripped off which with Uber premiums we really are already. Since it seems the stores are in control of their own buttons through the app maybe more training is needed.
Uber offered me a measly 10% off next purchases up to $5. What a joke. So contingent upon me spending more money with Uber I could get up to $5 off. I will voice my issues with Uber Eats again as well. They were supposed to call me regarding this matter but have neglected to do so It has been over a week.
I paid $18 something for a dozen bagels that I could have paid $10.50 for. This was the price of the half dozen that also had the offer of a free half dozen. Try to understand the customer here and how you would feel if you experienced the same thing. If your goal is to make you customers feel like fools and to leave a bad taste in their mouths, then mission accomplished.
I have little interest in buying from this store again. St. Viateur's it is when I...
Read moreI use to live around the corner from this bagel shop (20+ years ago) - and I, to this day, make a monthly drive to this location. I've been to the location in the market and the location in thornhill - this by far is the BEST location! As a former Montrealer - I'd like to think i know a thing or two about bagels. These are as authentic as the bagels in Montreal - I will go so far as to say even better. This location specifically is consistent in their quality, service and assortment of goodies. I've purchased both fresh and day old bagels (usually on sale - buy 6, get six free) - they freeze very well. Their pre- made egg/tuna little tea sandwiches are the bomb! Their flavoured cream cheese (dill or chive) are also amazing! The service is always courteous and prompt. Parking is a little bit of a challenge- but I can usually find a spot on one of the neighboring side streets for free. So worth the monthly drive...
Read moreThere is nothing better than a montreal-style bagel. Good news is that with St. Urbain Bagel, you don't have to drive five hours to get one! Whether you're ordering a sandwich to stay, or a half dozen to take home, the quality is spot on every time. We love coming here to get some bagels to go and toasting them up at home. The quality is so great that even a couple days in the freezer can't ruin these bagels. They taste as fresh as if they're right out of the oven!
The flavour options are classic, some with a twist (like the salted poppyseed) and the pumpkernickle is to die for!
The service is great, too! Staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend skipping the sub-par bagels at the grocery store and opting for a half or full dozen here!...
