I used to get 2 or 3 subs a week when they had $5 veggie subs. Plus you would get stickers and every 11th sub was free. Then the price increases started. Now it cost about $9 for a veggie sub. They no longer give out the stickers. Plus my local subway no longer had green olives. They keep "Taking away" stuff. The cheese is now so thin you can see your shadow through the slice Plus the little triangles of cheese are smaller too. The 4 thin small triangles of cheese when combined are probably the equivalent of 1 slice of processed cheese. Now let's talk about the toppings. Yea sure everyone is trying to cut costs but im tired of constantly saying "can you put on more" of basically everything. Just recently I asked for lettuce. There was so little lettuce that none of it even reached about 2 inches from the end of the bun and was spread so sparce I had to ask them to put on the same amount of lettuce again. I asked for some spinach and the person literally put on single leaves of lettuce from 1 end to the other for a total of about 6 tiny pieces of baby spinach. Next up was the tomatos which now resemble the smallest tomatoes the size of an oven light bulb without the screw in part and they are once again now slices so thin they probably float to the ground if dropped. Then cucumbers that I would never be able to replicate cutting that thin also. Now my favorite one. The green peppers. The person literally put on 5 pieces like a line from 1 end of the sub to the other end like a string. I just dropped my head in disgust and shook it from side to side in displeasure as I laughed on the outside but was screaming on the inside. So I basically had to ask for doubles and triples of everything to be added so as it would not feel like im eating bread and butter at an old folks home. Then it came time to pay and it is hard to spend just under $10 for a bun with what amounts to 200 grams of veggies on it. There was no pleasure in the whole "sub for lunch" experience at all. $10 did not even include a drink. I will now go to the local pizza store where you get 2 slices with a pop for $6.50 and that includes tax. This day and age of low wages and high rents, if you want people to buy lunch at subway, it should not be a negative experience of feeling like you have to beg for more of every...
Read moreI visited this place three times in the past few weeks on evenings and all three times they didn't have Italian herbs and cheese. Theres no point of keeping the store open 24 hours if you have limited stock of everything and can't maintain fresh inventory. I placed the order online but did it in the store and the cheese I selected was Habenaro jack but I saw the lady put the regular cheese and I told her that I asked for habenaro jack which I can see there is stock. So she changed the cheese and told me to go and sit as she prepares the order. As I walk away she took the order of the guy behind me and fully completed his order and only then she would get back to working on my order. My order was intentionally put on hold to delay as she didn't like me and prioritized another customer who came after me and was behind me in the line. About the place, note that one of the fan is wobbling and seems unsafe. Parking lot is a mess as people park in illegal spots and...
Read moreI ordered a Footlong Veggie Delight through UberEats an hour ago, and I got a sub with missing toppings, toppings I didn’t ask for, and other instructions were not followed either. The sub was missing olives, cheese, and there was barley any spinach. Furthermore, the order said no tomato, which they added. Lastly, the order said toasted and grilled bread. It was neither. What I essentially got was lettuce and some sauce in my sub. The total was about $21.
Subway is not a place to eat any more. And this shop is another example of its decline. No wonder why many Subway’s have been closing over the past decade. Subway does not taste fresh. I implore people to watch CBC Marketplace’s expose on the actual content of the chicken that Subway serves. The chicken smells and has a rubbery taste to it, and the show confirms that it’s content is barley chicken. Plus look into the bread controversy as well.
I think I’m done with Subway for...
