I’ve been a loyal customer of this Subway since its conception as I have lived in the area for 28 years, but after today's experience, I will never return. The level of unprofessionalism and lack of basic customer service was shocking. I purchased a footlong sub, and as I went to pay with a $20 bill, a small corner of the bill was ripped, but both serial numbers were intact, and there was no other damage. The worker refused to accept it, claiming it was fraudulent, and asked if I had another form of payment. When I explained I didn’t, she conferred with another employee and maintained that the bill couldn’t be accepted.
I calmly explained that, under Canadian law, the bill should be valid, as the serial numbers were clearly visible and any bank would accept it. However, the worker, with a smirk on her face, dismissed my explanation and rudely stated that Subway’s policies override Canadian Common Law. To add insult to injury, she insinuated I was uneducated and had no idea what I was talking about, which was not only unprofessional but also deeply offensive.
To make matters worse, the worker went on to share a story about another customer whose ripped bill was refused, which had nothing to do with my situation. Then, she did something even more inappropriate by asking another customer in line if they would accept my $20 bill or if they’d be willing to exchange it for a replacement bill—completely out of line. She even claimed that accepting the bill would come out of her own pocket, which violates labor laws if that's what Subway is telling its employees.
This experience highlights just how far Subway has fallen in terms of customer service. It's not about “the customer is always right”—it's about being knowledgeable and trained in policies and laws that apply to your business. The unprofessional attitude, lack of respect, and poor handling of a simple transaction were unacceptable. Subway, like many other companies, seems more interested in cutting corners and maximizing profits than maintaining a positive reputation. Very...

First of all, the employee who took our order was prepping mozzarella using bare hands, separating it piece by piece. That’s already a red flag for hygiene.
Second, the portions were stingy. I ordered the teriyaki rice bowl and received very little meat. Worse, she put the meat and rice in the same container to heat it up. At these prices, you’d expect better quality and quantity.
Then she tried to justify the portion by putting the already-heated meat (mixed with rice) into the teriyaki scooper to show it was a full serving—obviously misleading, since it’s no longer just meat. Even worse, she risked cross-contaminating the entire teriyaki batch by doing that.
This experience has convinced us not to return. In the future, rather than try to make the best of poor service, I’ll simply walk out. I’m tired of having to compensate for staff who show little regard for food safety or...
Read moreI would not recommend this location! The staff is RUDE! Today a heavier lady was serving me and there was also another server there replenishing. They had the nerve to speak their language infront of me.Made aware that what they were doing was very RUDE and they should NOT speak their language infront of me.The heavier server kept saying "It's Okay" not acknowledging what she had done was completely WRONG.The other serve who was much shorter with the nose piercing try to just to justify it by saying "she's having a conversation with me".Clearly they lack customer service skills and could use a refresher on what's appropriate and what's inappropiate in a workplace setting.Even though the staff may have been ESL it's quite clear they knew what their doing. Also very STINGY with the toppings. To the owner of this place maybe it's time you hire some new staff that have some basic training on...
