Decent food, clean place. BUT terrible service! 👎
My friends and I went here for lunch, craving some great South Indian food and looking at the great reviews they have.
We ordered the following: Appetizers: Lamb paya soup, Tomato soup and Sweet corn soup Main course: Chicken Kuthu Roti, Rava Paneer Dosa, Chicken Fried Rice Beverages: Mango lassi, Filter coffee
Except the Paya soup and Tomato soup, other food items tasted nice. BUT our experience turned sour because of the following.
First, they got us paya soup. It tasted liquid chilli curry with a piece of lamb leg. We are from India, we eat spicy food VERY often. We make spicy food at home everyday. We LOVE spicy food. But one sip of the paya soup, and all four of us were dying for water. I also had a reaction and was hiccuping badly for almost 15 minutes. So we decided to tell them about it and send it back (we were ready to pay for it, but it was NOT edible): THEY DENIED TO ACCEPT THAT IT WAS SPICY AT ALL. In fact, the owner lady (or the manager, I am not sure) came to us, and but kept pushing the soup at us saying this is how it is and since we are not Tamilians, we are mistaken and that it wasn’t spicy. We had to really get stern and ask her to take it back. And after some 4 minutes of arguing with us and trying to prove us wrong because we aren’t Tamilians so we do that understand spicy v/s non-spicy, did she take that spicy curry soup back. It felt so forced and discriminatory to be told “you are not from the place so you don’t know. Is this your first time? This is how it is…” Sorry, but no. This was not our first time and this is not edible spice level.
Second incident. They got my rava paneer dosa before the appetizer of tomato soup. I politely asked the server to please bring the soup first. He kept saying “take it, take it, I can’t take it away now that it’s made” and shoved the dosa on my table and left. The soup came afterwards and it was MY responsibility to move the dosa plate to make space for soup. And then eat a super cold dosa which tasted mora like papad because of being cold.
The tomato soup too was full of sugar and black pepper. No salt at all.
The fried rice was amazing, and hot thankfully. But the chicken kuthu rotis were more like roti bhurji and very cold, despite of being served in handi containers.
We had to remind them multiple times for many things - including for spoons and the mango lassi.
All this despite mentioning at the time of ordering to please bring soups and lassi first and then the main course later..
We appreciate that they didn’t charge us for paya soup, but honestly the experience of being called non-Tamilians and forcing food was a whole new negative experience.
We felt it’s a family run restaurant and we love eating at such places! We wanted the wholesome feeling of udupi and south Indian taste of food, so we went there, but the service was very disappointing.
Also, limited vegetarian options. Kuthu roti didn’t have any vegetarian option at all, which...

Our visit to this restaurant was an absolute nightmare. We were served parotta with HAIR in it, and when we complained, the staff blatantly ignored our concerns. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, they accused us of eating the food and even had the audacity to indirectly mention like we added the hair ourselves to get a refund!
The staff was incredibly rude, showed no empathy, and refused to apologize for their mistake. The owner or manager didn’t bother to show up to resolve the issue and just kept sending staff who repeated the same nonsense. We were shocked by their behavior and lack of accountability.
Despite us not wanting to eat the contaminated food, they insisted we pay for it. The situation escalated to the point where we had to mention calling 911 due to the poor food quality and their hostile attitude.
This place is a disgrace when it comes to hygiene, customer service, and professionalism. If you value your health and respect, avoid this restaurant at all costs! refund!

If you're craving authentic South Indian cuisine, look no further than Taste of Tamilnadu. My recent visit to this gem was nothing short of a culinary delight.
We started our meal with the Mutton Biryani, which was a fragrant masterpiece. The tender mutton was perfectly cooked, infused with rich spices that delighted the senses. Each grain of rice was fluffy and aromatic, making it a true comfort dish.
Next up was the Parotta—flaky, buttery, and absolutely delicious. It paired wonderfully with the Chicken Salna. The salna was a flavorful curry with a delightful kick, complementing the parotta perfectly.
The Idiyappam was the highlight of the meal for me. Delicate and soft, these steamed rice noodles were a revelation! They had a subtle that paired beautifully with the accompanying chicken salna and sukka.A must-try for anyone visiting!
We also indulged in the Masala Dosa, which was crispy and filled with a perfectly spiced potato mixture. It was served with a variety of chutneys that added an extra layer of flavor.
Finally, we couldn’t resist trying the Mutton Sukka Varuval. This dry preparation of mutton was incredibly flavorful, with spices that danced on the palate and a texture that was simply irresistible.
The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for families and friends. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish.
In summary, Taste of Tamilnadu is a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the rich flavors of South Indian cuisine. Every dish we tried was exceptional, and the Idiyappam truly stole the show. I can't wait to return and sample more of their delicious offerings!
Keep up...
